The Midnight Prince

[Shisou]

"C-c-c-carbonne. Xe g-g-ave me this..." 

Shisou reaches up to his collar, tugging on the chain to pull out an amulet: carved like a beetle, made of ivory except for the body, just peeking out form under the wings, which is some pale amber-like substance that glows faintly yellow. 

[Rokag]

"...So xe gave you a bug amulet that makes you a girl? And in long boots, a skirt and smells like fl-" Rokag cuts herself off. "A-anyway, so that IS you...Wait, are you always like that, or is this thing your doing now a disguise?"

[Shisou]

He shakes his head. "Th-th-this is m-m-me. I-- I st-st-st-st-stam-mm-mmer."

[Rokag]

"...okay, but why didn't you stammer on the boat, then?"

[Shisou]

"I-- I d-d-d-don't k-kn-know. B-b-but. S-s-s-oushi-h-h-h-hime d-doesn't st-st-st-stammer. It's m-m-m-ma-gic."

"It's psychosomatic, is what it is, kid." Stripped of xir disguise, the grumpy lizard has climbed deftly out to perch on the top of xir terrarium, regarding them casually. 

[Rokag]

"The fuck does that mean?" Rokag was going to try and not be weirded out by the talking lizard. And it's not like it could do much...right? "Anyway, that's not.." Rokag took a deep breath. She either had to trust Shisou or not. "Alright, does anyone else know? About either of us?"

[Shisou]

"No! N-n-n-not e-e-even m-m-my s-s-sis-s-sters."

[Rokag]

Rokag gave a sigh of relief. "Okay....okay, that's good." She could deal with that. If they just thought she was a commoner, then at WORST they'd just think she was an idiot. Which ALSO meant they would probably have no problem leaving her alone as long as she didn't start a fight. "So...guess we should figure out what the hell we're gonna do, then."

[Shisou]

Shisou looks away, hesitant. "D-d-d-d-do y-y-you... a--a-are you a-al-alright w-with m-m-m-m-m-m-m-marr-r-r-rying m-m-me?"

[Rokag]

That's the Plat coin question, isn't it? Rokag shrugged a little. "I don't....I mean..." She sighed. "Shisou, you don't know anything about me. And I don't know...alright, I know some things about you, but nothing other than that you sometimes stutter and that you can turn into a cu- into a girl. And I mean, you already did a lot more than anyone else has for me. And I don't think you're...that Sir Indou is going to just let me NOT marry you. I got the idea that I'd either do this or be sent off somewhere. At least THIS way, I'm not in a dungeon or dead."

Gods, this is sounding worse as I talk! "And, I mean...you seem pretty nice. I figured I could see how you were and if things would be okay and then your sisters were talking about you taking over if you got me pregnant and then I needed to see whatever the fuck it is YOU want! I mean, I can't stand all this shit happening without me getting to say anything about it. So...how about you? What do you feel about any of this shit?"

[Shisou]

Shisou shakes his head. "I w-w-w-wouldn't m-m-m-mind m-m-m-marrying y-y-you. I al-always kn-kn-kn-knew--"

He breaks off, visibly frustrated, and shakes his head again. "B-b-b-but if you d-d-d-don't w-w-want t-t-t-o, I-- I cc-c-c--could, I c-c-c-ould t-t-t-try t-t-to g-g-get you s-s-somewhere s-s-safe."

[Rokag]

"What, and leave you hear to deal with this kinda crap? I wouldn't be able to EVER pay that kinda thing back. I also don't know anything about what the fuck I'm even doing now and...Well...if I HAD to be married, at least it's to someone that would be willing to give a bunch of gold and food and a note to an actual job to some random naked women you found while waiting for your lover by a shed." She laughed a little. "But...no it wouldn't be bad to be married to you."

The stuttering IS weird. He sounded fine before, but it seems like it gets worse. Not that she minded it too much. It was...weird, but with the amount of looks she got just being a different shade made something like that not that weird.

[Shisou]

Shisou nods. "Th-th-then... if you c-c-c-c-an g-g-get... p-p-p-p-pregnant," he manages, swallowing. "We.. it would b-b-be n-nice. A-a-and. Y-y-y-you w-wouldn't h-h-h-have to sc-sc-scrounge o-o-r anyth-thing."

[Rokag]

"Alright, can you...can you not just say it like that? " Rokag tried to not shudder but everyone was being REALLY matter-of-fact with the idea of her being pregnant. She wasn't...she was also pretty sure that wouldn't THAT easy. "And...let's try something easier. Like...do you like fishing? Or, have you ever been away from Toukami? I mean, don't we have to be married first or something?"

[Shisou]

He shakes his head. "W-w-we... I-- y-y--yyou'd n-n-n-eed to be pr-pr-pregnant f-f-for the we-we-wedding t-t-to ha-ha-happen. A-a-a-and... if i-it's.. a--a-are you r-r-really p-p-part Un-d-d-dine?"
