Rokag

"Debts?" Rokag tilted her head to one side in confusion. "How the fuck did you have debts? You own an island!"

Shisou

"My great-great grandfather owns an island," she corrects. "My mother owed money to the eels."

Rokag

Oh...so he DEFINITELY had something to do with it. Rokag only slightly reconsidered her plan to stick this out. "So... basically no one wants him here, and all of this is about a huge debt. That's.... basically what's happening?" She gave a slightly pained groan. "Okay, we can....leave it for now, but I'm pretty sure knowing about it might keep us safer than not."

Shisou

"Well," says Soushi-hime slowly. "I suppose... the library might have some ideas... if it's important..."

"Pretty sure it is." Rokag paused for a moment. "But not so much that we have to do it right now. For one, I want you to listen to me if I say you should get some fucking rest and I'm saying it right now." She looked away. "Not just gonna forget you got knocked around and we're gonna act like you were fine."

Shisou

She blushes a little. "Then... can we nap here? Together?"

Rokag

Rokag gave a nod. "Y-yeah. That's...it would be better than trying to make you walk." Rokag wasn't sure she wanted to have Shisou change ba k just yet. It might be magic, but it hadn't stopped her head from getting almost bashed in.

Rokag STILL was sure this was going to be a fucking mistake. She'd gotten a chance to see Shisou sneak out after having had dinner (Thankfully some amount of food, but they seemed insistent on eating foods to 'help grant her the Ancestor's blessing') and decided that she was going to make sure she was okay.

Alright, it was more that she had decided that it was Shisou's choice. And then she chose to chase after him...her...Shisou, cursing the whole way through getting clothing that she could move in. She was still offput by that a little. Not that he transformed. That was magic crap that'd helped her survive this long. But that...she couldn't put a finger on why that was interesting. That she could just...change her form.

Not that Rokag wanted that kinda thing. Her body had gotten her this far and she wasn't going to just...change it. That wasn't what you did. It also had nothing to do with her mother. Nope.

And it also hadn't helped that she apparently just had shoes with fucking WHEELS on them and that was kinda difficult to keep up with. She'd lost sight of the princess about two streets back and now she was just hoping she hadn't completely lo- And that was the sound of someone in pain. So best bet is that way. Rokag rushes in that direction.

Thankfully her first shot had struck fairly true, taking down one of the thugs that she'd come across. They were wearing similar robes as those men on the boat, but instead of summoning a snake demon, they had been dragging someone into an ally. Thankfully her shot and the mist that had happened shortly before it made their escape easy. Now there was the problem of the chanting and the other man trying to rush her with a sword. There was a moment of panic as he got close, but the next shot was able to get the closer man.

And then the chanting stopped and the growling did. Out of the mist, a fiendish looking hound lunges out at her, fire in it's eyes and the stink of sulfur coming from it's jaws as it tried to tackle and bite down on the Midnight Princess's neck. It hits...something as it barreled into her, knocking her back and down as she could hear it crunch down and feel the sudden lack of a connection. Like something had been severed from her. Carbonne, or at least part of xem, could be seen before it disappeared into small flecks of light coming from the hounds jaws. The growling picked back up as it's burning eyes locked on to her again...and then there was something at it's side. Some sort of bluish light was sticking into the beast's head and figured that had...what looked like a yukata sleeve wrapped around their head was stabbing something that looked like a blade of freezing air into the hound, which gave a pained cry as it disappeared into ash and sparks.

Shisou

"Carbonne!" Soushi-hime cries, anguished and miserable. She flips onto her back, crawling backward away from the hound as it disappears. "Carbonne," she whimpers, wiping at her eyes.

Rokag

Chanting picked up again and was quickly silenced in another rush of cold air and a blade slicing through the man's neck.

There was a moment before there was a long exhale from the figure and a muffled, vaguely familiar voice. "Are you okay?"

Shisou

"s-s-stay b-back!" she stammers. "In the n-n-n-name of J-j-justice!"

Rokag

The figure stares at her for a moment. "Wha- What's wrong?" And the figure took a step and...faultered a second, stumbling. Shit, that...still aches. Rokag could feel an ache in her arm, but it was only minor right now. "And what the fuck was that thing? Do you do this shit every night?"

Shisou

"R-r-rokag?" she stammers.

Rokag

"Wh...OH! Sorry. Wasn't sure I should...ya know, be seen? So I fugred this would help." Tho, there WAS the fact that the arm that the fabric (had she torn a SLEEVE off for that?) was a light green color and probably would have given her away pretty easily.

Shisou

"Okay," she whispers, taking a deep breath. "We h-h-have to gg-get to s-safety."
