"I used to be an adventurer, of sorts. It's a real shame neither of my girls inherited my legacy. It was enriching, getting out and meeting people, saving lives, pushing myself to get better at my craft..."

Rokag

Rokag blinked. "Wait...you were an adventurer?! So you went out and fought monsters and found treasures?" There was a large amount of interest in Rokag's voice. So much that when she speaks again, it's absence is noticable. "I...sorry. I was just...not expecting that."

GamesMaster

"Oh yes. I was hired as a shrine maiden to guard the Prismatic Shrine in Haverton. It's a pantheistic shrine, and they get a lot of graffiti in the dark god parts, plus some nefarious folks trying to use it for practicing summons magic, so I had a lot of mysteries to solve and I got paid a good amount. Plus what I could get on my own, running little quests for people here and there."

Rokag

"So...wait, so you didn't always live on this island, or one of the other dancing islands?" Rokag looked a little shocked. "Huh...guess it's not as impossible as people kept saying."

GamesMaster

"I ran away from home  as a teenager. I wanted to see the world. The shore was about as far as I got. Eventually I came back when I wanted to get married -- Shisou's father was a commoner, and I wanted to give him a better life than he would have had on the shore as a fisherman. Seiya's the spitting image of him."

Rokag

"Huh...I kinda figured Tsuki was the closest to anyone I knew from there." Rokag laughed a little. "Probably was a lot different than you thought, tho."

GamesMaster

"The shore? Absolutely. At first I was totally lost among their ways. But I adapted." She sighs, sipping her tea. "Forgive me, I am growing old and lost in memory."

Rokag

"If it helps, a lot of the shore thinks a lot of things about the lake. Mostly about magical food that doesn't ever spoil and being able to find people who can see the future."

GamesMaster

"Food spoilage is greatly reduced with proper preservation, but it is not impossible. And the future cannot be fully known, but it can be glimpsed -- as it will be when we divine your child's race. After the wedding."

Rokag

Rokag took a long breath. "Oh...that's..." Fucking terrifying "Good to know. I would have thought that was going to happen before and I was trying to figure out if I could find one of those people so I knew before it happened."

GamesMaster

Kuronue hesitates. "You could fetch a higher bride-price if we do it before... or you could show my husband how little you're worth. I assumed you would prefer after, when the marriage is sealed and your vanishing would be a shame to the family."

Rokag

I'd like to see the fucking Eel try! She took a moment to breath, a small bit of fog flowing from her mouth. "Okay...that is a point. At least if it's after, he'll have to do something other than just making me disappear."

GamesMaster

"Good. I am thinking a week from tomorrow for the wedding date. That's as soon as I can reasonably expect Seiya to attend to be your second bridesmaid. Agreed? Or is there family somewhere you need to invite?"

Rokag

Rokag had a sudden look of shock and...pain? It was odd since she seemed to either have indifference or, at least in this conversation, curiosity and exitement. "N-no...no there isn't anyone." She looks down at her tea I can't...I can't think about that now. I have to live and the best way was out here, right? It...she probably is...

GamesMaster

"I'm sorry," she says quietly. "But that makes things easier. We'll go ahead with the wedding a week from tomorrow. And... I'll do what I can to keep Indou distracted until then."
