The Midnight Prince

[GamesMaster]

"H-h-h-huh? O-o-o-oh-- C-c-c-c-c-c-ar-b-b-b-b-bon-n-n-e-e m-m-m-mu-st h-h-h-h-ave t-t-t-t-old y-y--yy-ou. I m-m-m-m-a-a-a-n-n-nn-a-g-g-g-e-d t-t-t-to g-g-g-g-et f-f-f-free b-b-b-b-but it w-w-w-w-a-s d-d-d-i-f-f-f-f-fi-c-c-c-cult. B-b-b-b-ut I b-b-b-b-b-rou-ght y-y-y-y-you s-s-s-s-s-ome-th-thing." So saying, he digs in his satchel, pulling out a small jewlery box and handing it to Rokag. 

[Rokag]

Rokag...blinked a bit. "Wait, so you escaped and...." Rokag took the offered box. "Whatever. Come on, we gotta talk about whatever happened." She was a little worried that Shisou just seemed...okay? Welll, at least besides the bruises.

[Shisou]

"I-i-i-t's f-f-f-f-fine," he says, waving a hand as he smirks -- an honestly fetching look on him. "O-p-p-p-p-en the b-b-b-b-box."

[Rokag]

Rokag raised an eyebrow. "Uh...sure, once we're in." She started heading back to her room, looking over the box. Where the fuck did he get a box from?

[Shisou]

Shisou follows Rokag to her room, shutting the door and leaning against it. He gestures, and when she opens the slim box, she finds something stunning, a necklace that catches the light and sparkles with a brilliance she's never seen in person: a necklace with hundreds of small diamonds and emeralds. The center piece is an emerald with diamonds laced around it to make the shape of a lightning bolt in a circle, green on white -- Zanon's symbol, for all that the colors are wrong.

[Rokag]

THAT got Rokag's attention. "What...the hells?!" She wasn't fancy enough to know how much jewels were, but there's no WAY this was cheap. "W...how did you even get this?"

[Shisou]

"I-i-i-i've f-f-f-f-fig-g-g-ured o-o-o-o-oout th-the r-r-r-r-real r-r-r-reas-s-s-son I h-h-h-have th-these p-p-p-p-p-p-pow-w-w-ers. D-d-d-do y-y-y-y-y-you l-l-l-l-l-like i-i-i-t? I-i-i-i c-c-c-c-can g-g-g-gg-et a-a--a-n-n-n-oth-ther."

[Rokag]

"The real reason? So you're not supposed to fight spirits or something?" Rokag was looking the necklace over. Who would have grabbed him that he'd just have THIS afterwards. This whole thing was weird. "WAit, who WERE those guys that grabbed you? Carbonne said someone had knocked you out and dragged you off."

[Shisou]

"J-j-jj-ust s-s-s-s-s-ome E-e-e-l g-g-g-g-oo-ons." 

[Rokag]

Rokag shook her head. "Taht...kinda makes sense?" She puts the box down. "Anyway, should probably find Carbonne and calm xim down or something."

[GamesMaster]

"I'm here," calls the lizard, climbing out from the covers. "Eel goons? Why eels?" 

Shisou shrugs, unconcerned. "D-d-d-d-do y-y-y--you l-l-l-i-k-k-k-ke i-i-i-i-t?"

[Rokag]

"I mean...it's nice. Kinda surprised you grabbed it, but it's nice." Rokag gave the thing another look. "Kinda weirded out they had something like this on them."

[Shisou]

"Tt-t-t-t-try it o-o-o-o-o-on," he urges. 

[Rokag]

Rokag looks at the necklace again. "...um...I dunno. I'm pretty far from 'perfection'." She checks the clasp on in. Something about the WHOLE thing seemed off. Rokag wasn't sure why, but she hadn't doubted those instincts before.

[Shisou]

"The p-p-p-p-p-p-path to p-p-p-p-p-p-perf-f-f-f-ecc-c-tion." The difference is subtle but she's heard it before: Zanon requires that one strive for perfection, not achieve it.
