The Midnight Prince

[Rokag]

"Cruel?" Rokag was trying to think back to what she knew of the two of them. That is Definitely NOT my problem. "Never mind. Just...okay, so probably don't have to be AS formal with them and almost getting into a fight with Tsuki isn't going to make things speed up any faster."

[Shisou]

She laughs. "Almost getting into a fight with Tsuki makes you a mortal. She's got a chip on her shoulder. Don't take it too personal."

[Rokag]

"I...yeah." Rokag didn't want to go into the fact that SHE was actually close to fighting her. That she felt compelled to keep her own space safe and not to bow to her. Also that she was pretty sure Tsuki was not as defenseless as she seemed, but that a current problem, either. "Good to know. Guessing your mother is someone I should be on my best behavior around, tho?"

[Shisou]

"She doesn't really... you won't have troubles with Kuronue," says the girl, hesitantly. 

[Rokag]

"...right." So just Indou, then. Which was still a fucking terrifying idea, but at least it was ONE thing to try and worry about. "Alright. So that's...well, that. Unless you or Carbonne have any idea how I control any of this shit I'm doing. I feel like there's...a lot more to it." To be more accurate, she feels like she's connected to something that wants to get out (usually violently) and is not totally under her control. It's like trying to spear a fish and getting a fucking monster instead. Something strong enough to pull you out and under if it got the chance.

[Shisou]

"Let me have a look," says Carbonne, and without further warning, xe leaps onto Rokag's shoulder instead.

[Rokag]

Rokag jumped a bit as xe suddenly had Carbonne ON her. Also he would notice that a thin layer of water suddenly form on Rokag's skin, small bits of ice floating near the top of it.

[Shisou]

"Nope, that's not undine magic," says Carbonne. "Though the affinity might come from it, you're not an undine, you don't have the smell of it. You're mortal, with a connection to the plane of Water. A, what's it called -- Vessel? Something like that."

[Rokag]

Okay, so it's not Undine magic...wait, shit! "Does that mean that there's no way if we had a kid for it to be an undine?" Because if THAT wasn't going to work, then they REALLY needed to stall. "Also, I'm a what? Connected to fucking Where?!" That...part also sounded dangerous and a little bit of a fucking problem.

[Shisou]

"Oh, you might well have an undine parent. But you never did this before you nearly drowned, right? That's gotta be when the Way was Opened."

[Rokag]

"Okay....okay wait. I know that there are planes. And that there's...five of them? But what do you mean 'Way was Opened'? I almost died and then...what, so now water likes me or something?"

[Shisou]

"Essentially."

"Carbonne..."

"What, she's not mine to train."

"If you're going to do it, do it right."

"Fine, fine. So you've got a, a shunt I guess, where power can flow through you from the Elemental Plane into the Material Plane. And since your'e connected to Water, that means water and ice flow through. Like this." Carbonne scoops up a pawful of water and flings it at Rokag's face. "Nasty wet stuff, water."

[Rokag]

Rokag was splashed in the face and the water seemed to dissipate, even the bit that was splashed in her face. "O...okay. So I'm probably NOT possessed or about to have something use me to come here or some shit? It's just...a thing I can do now?"

[Shisou]

"Well, it'll take practice to get good with. But yes."

[Rokag]

Okay...so she had a weapon. It wasn't something the demon had done. It wasn't some one-time thing the Lake spirit had done and now she would have to worry about not leaving Okay, that one had been a story she heard once but it was a REALLY weird day. but an actual thing SHE could do. And something she could actually control. "..alright, that's...at least some good news."
