GamesMaster

"I told you something you don't want to know," says Bethie, with a small sigh.

Varric

"About what?" Varric asks cautiously. Something (blue person) I don't want to know?

GamesMaster

Again Bethie answers, and again he doesn't hear what she said.  "I'm losing you," she says after a moment. "You're dropping out of connection. I'll be gone soon."

Varric

Varric shakes his head as if to clear away an impediment. "Broader," he orders her.

GamesMaster

"It's about the mystery. But I can't tell you. You have to solve it. You have to want to solve it. You have to solve yourself, so you can solve the mystery."

Varric

Solve yourself. "Why?" he manages to force out of a strangled throat.

GamesMaster

"Because you're isolating yourself. Nobody can reach you while you're hurting so bad. I'm not the only one trying."

Varric

Emma. "I'm not-- I'm trying," he chokes out.

GamesMaster

"Give yourself time and space to be sad. Be gentle with yourself." Bethie reaches out as if to take his hand, though it goes right through his arm instead, sending shivers down his spine. "Pray."

Varric

"No," Varric growls at the last word. "Not-- No. I won't."

GamesMaster

"They're not all like that, you know." Her voice is soft. "Some gods forgive."

Varric

His lips twist in a sneer. "But some dwarves don't." I can't forgive Nem (need to blame) for what they demanded. Not after all Ne had already taken from-- from-- from nem.

GamesMaster

"All the gods? Every last one?"

Varric

"Only one has--" Varric cuts off. "This isn't important."

GamesMaster

"You need someone in your corner. Someone to support you. And I'm just a dead girl."
