Jassinth

He pulls back, that damn (sexy) smirk firmly in place. "No, no," he chides her. "Your lips were not hurt; that was your jaw and knee, was it not?" His eyes drift down her body, still hidden by the sheet, until they rest on her legs.

Shiori

Shiori takes a moment to stretch and look around. For a moment her smile almost slips, but then it's back in place, as warm as ever. "Well, then? I've got something else that aches for you..."

Jassinth

Unfortunately for her, her maybe-someday lover as the keen eyes of a hunter. "I cannot kiss your heart, but I would hold you and listen," he says softly, reaching over to cup her face with one hand.

Shiori

"Wasn't my heart I was talking about," she says playfully, but there's a shadow of doubt in her eyes.

Jassinth

"Shiori..." he chides her gently. "Leaving a wound to fester just makes it worse."

Shiori

"I'm fine. I was just surprised. That's the old me that was weak that way."

Jassinth

"The old... Shiori, your gender has no bearing on childhood trauma," Jass protests, thumb slowly rubbing a circle on her cheek.

Shiori

"Haven't you noticed? Since I got my new body I feel like a new person. Braver. More confident. Funnier. More playful."

Jassinth

"Well, no, as I did not met you before your transformation," Jass points out. "But... I have seen similar, I think, in others I have seen healed. Even things as... well, minor seems offensive and inaccurate besides, but even in injures like a broken leg or being partially blind; after being healed, the person often approaches life with newfound vigor and joy."

Shiori

"I've been healed of things before. This is different. I used to be so shy I could barely speak, stuttered, just utterly useless."

Jassinth

"I speak of long held injuries, of being healed from crippling wounds and having long carried disfigurements washed away," Jass explains with a shake of his head. "It's not a bad thing, Shiori. Having set down your burden, being freed from that false shell, it's allowed you to take all the strength you used to spend on that and apply it to other woes and challenges. But it doesn't make them simply vanish." I am very glad Maeve explained a little of this before we left. I wish we had been able to stay longer, so I could have had more time to learn what to do though...

Shiori

Shoiri frowns. "I don't... I'm not... I don't feel like I'm That Man's son anymore. I feel like I'm Raplin's creation."

Jassinth

"That's fine, but the fact that you cannot bare to say his name is... not an indicator of health or being 'over' something."

Shiori

"It's a sign of disrespect, not naming him. And given what he did to us, I refuse to call him my father."

Jassinth

"Ah, another Toukami custom?" Jass ask, briefly distracted.
