Shiori

"You... you'd do that for me?" she asks, awed.

NPCs

"Of course?" Emiko paused, then bobbed her head in sudden understanding. "I worship Weiha, directly, Shiori. Even if you were a stranger, even if I disliked you, I would still want to ensure The Stirring in the Silt received Her due message. Talking to Uncle Delan isn't that much really."

"Frosted Delan is the family priest in charge of educating the Kame youth," Manu supplied. "He is also pleasingly bald."

Shiori

Shiori's face softens. "I worship Raplin," she admits. "As will my child, for that's who had the getting of them. I had a... personal experience with the father of my child, something I will forever-- forever be blessed to have--"

And she bursts into tears.

Jassinth

Jass levered his hip onto the edge of the bed so he can very carefully (and rather painfully for himself) gather Shiori into an embrace without putting any pressure on her. "Shiori's child was made with the help of Maeve, one of Raplin's Daughters. Powerful tulwath directly created by Him."

"Oh," Emiko breathed out with wide eyes. "That is... that is an impressive lineage. And..." She blushed suddenly. "Raplin's Daughter?"

Shiori

"A-alll R-Raplin's c-children are d-d-daughters," sobs Shoiri. "B-but they are Tulwath, they are not-- not t-t-t-truly mortal women."

Jassinth

"But, they're, umm, shaped..."

Despite the situation, Jass can't help but toss a smirk at the blushing, curious, Emiko. "Maeve might not technically be a women, per se, but she is absolutely feminine. Mind blowingly so."

While Emiko gaped and made squeaky mouth noises, Jass turned his attention fully to Shiori. "It will be okay, my love. We will figure this out, you and the babe will be okay. I swear it," he whispered.

Shiori

"I'll n-n-n-ever s-s-see her ag-g-gain," she wails. "I'll n-n-never make it back a-alive."

Jassinth

If it had occurred to Jassinth to think about something he didn't think about in the first place, he would have been deeply grateful to the stumbles of his youth. Specifically the terrible month and change when he had been jealous punk over Maeve being wrapped up a visiting flutist. Without the lesson from acting badly then, he might have acted poorly now, when Shiori was so very fragile. "You will. She promised to visit, did she not? She will not forsake that promise."

Shiori

"B-b-but I c-c-can't-- they-- they sewed--!"

Jassinth

"Love." Jass tapped her nose gently. "You used to have an entirely different body," he murmured in slyvan, low enough that Emiko couldn't hear even if she did happen to speak the language. "Maeve isn't going to let some stitches stop her. You stop her, sure, if you wished, but that? Pah."

Shiori

Shoiri can't figure out how to say her next objection; she's not sure the sylvan word for the part they removed, and she doesn't want to just come out and say it. So instead she clings to Jass and sobs, letting the fear and pain show in her tears.

Jassinth

Jass matched her with wordless murmurs of comfort and love and gentle strokes. On the other side of the room, Emiko very carefully studied a random painting in her best effort to give the pair some privacy.

Shiori

Eventually the tears slow, then stop. "Thank you," she whispers, then louder, "and thank you as well. Both of you have been such good friends to me during this ordeal."

NPCs

Emiko jumped a little at Shiori's comment but smiled warmly after turning around. "I'm glad. That I could help, I mean, not-- you're welcome." Aww, she was so cute when she's flustered.

Jassinth

"How... I am sorry if I am being pushy, but how long do you think it will take before..?"

"Before..? Oh! Umm, well, I should be able to find some time to speak with my uncle privately pretty quickly. A few days maybe? But I'm not sure how busy he is right now so, uh, I'm not sure... But I'm sure it won't be more than a month, at the worst!"
