Claudia coughs politely, fighting back a squirm when everyone glances at her. "Umm, I do? I mean, I know who to ask, in the Archives," she explains.

"We'll also presumably get one when the sale is complete," points out Coquette, "given that's what we're explicitly buying: her debt and the right to her service as repayment."

"Buy from whom? Did you mention that already, I, uh, I got... distracted," Claudia admits, blushing yet again.

"Mistress Odette Emerison," Zevran supplies. 

Eyes widening, Claudia whistles softly. "Well shit, that explains... Yeah, okay, I see how this all happened," she mutters. "Total hardass bitch-face," she adds in gnomish, before switching back to drow. "I'd definitely recommend going to Archives. I'm not saying she'd give a flawed copy or anything to trick, cheat or fuck you over, even in private, but, ah, everyone can make mistakes, yeah?"

"Fine," she agrees. "Zevran, take Obi and go to the archives tomorrow to get a copy."

"I can go with to help," Claudia blurts out, then ducks her head.

"Good, good," Claudia mumbles, studying her tea ever so carefully. "So... New servant, huh?"

She winces ever so slightly. "Yes. And I doubt I have the coin to pay, meaning our wife will have to cover for me and I'll end up owing her."

"Oh, that shouldn't be too big a deal," Claudia says with some relief, having braced after 'doubt' and relaxed after 'wife.' She sips her tea, then hums with pleasure at the quality. "Oh hey, this is good. Did you..?" She glances at Bria curiously.

"This one has been educated in many types of tea," she confirms, her voice soft as she stares at the floor.

"Well, you've done really well with that education," Claudia says with bright smile. "Umm." She glances at Coquette, biting her lip. "Do..." She trails off, then waves at Coquette to lean in so she can whisper, "you should go over basic household rules with her. Thinking you're a lot different than, uh, her previous placement."

Coquette nods. "You will be rooming in the servant quarters adjacent to this main room," she says, gesturing toward the door. "Zevran will move his things in with Obidiah so that there is space for you to be housed separately, as it is unseemly for males and females to bunk together. You will refer to myself as Mistress Coquette, to my wife as Mistress Claudia, and to her wife as Mistress Estelle -- all three are to be giving you orders if they need something. When not required to be performing duties, you are expected to spend time bettering yourself in some way: reading, learning a new skill, et cetera. As our legal husband, Zevran has the charge over all the servants." There is a pause, then, "Should you commit some error, I will explain your error to you, but I do not beat my servants. I find it distasteful. I will be reducing your debt by.. can you read and write?" When she shakes her head, Coquette suggests, "you may wish to learn in your off hours. I will be paying you three gold five silver a week towards your debts, and double that if you can work as a scribe as well. If you wish some of that to be paid out as free coin, you must simply let Zevran know, as he will be handling the distribution of funds for me. Zevran is also the only one allowed to clean my chambers, as I am very particular about how my things are arranged. Knock before entering any room. Do you have any questions for me now?
