"You mortals are very, very strange," Manu observed primly, getting a look of mild betrayal from their summoner.

[Shiori]

"And the ways of Outsiders are strange to most mortals as well, excepting of course beloved Toukami, where we learn what we can from your gracious presence."

[NPCs]

"Are we? Hmm. I would think we are eminently simple really," Manu pondered, earning a soft giggle from Emiko.

[Shiori]

"Simple, perhaps, but that simplicity is itself strange to such complex creatures as we mortals."

[NPCs]

"That mmakes sense," Emiko agreed, nodding. "Asside from our bbond, all Manu likes to do is garden fflowers." She hummed softly. "And p-poking at people."

"They make funny noises," Mani said, her tone deeply amused.

[Shiori]

"Oh? I'd love to see your gardens sometime, Bright Manu."

[NPCs]

"And I would enjoy showinnn--"

"They're underwwater," Emiko reminded her summons under her breath. 

"--nnng them if you're able to see and move underwater," Manu finished without a trace of shame for forgetting. Emiko covered her face with one hand. She forgot about 'breathing' again.

[Shiori]

"I might have a plant that allows me to breathe water for a time. I have to check if I still have any."

[NPCs]

"Oh, and that too, yes," Manu agreed, unfazed by her oversight. 

Sighing again, Emiko gave her a fond smile before she added, "if you do have such, I can arrange for us to use one of the family's bubbleshine turtles."

[Shiori]

"That would be splendid."

[NPCs]

"Wait, what?" Dreamy suddenly snapped into focus, her tail arching in alarm. "Underwater? Under water?"

[Shiori]

"You don't have to attend," reassured Shiori.

[NPCs]

"But then I won't be around when you do something funny," Dreamy protested with utter sincerity. 

[Shiori]

"But if you come, you'll be wet."

[NPCs]

Dreamy's muzzle contorted in distress as she stares out across the teahouse like a veteran asked the price of peace. 

"...is she okay?" Emiko whispered to Shiori.
