"Your mother has her own ways of protection, tho the iron would not make you any easier to consume." Acutis frowned as he thought. "Tho, other than finding ways to feed regularly, having some amount of practice with control can keep you from doing anything permanent to either of them. Unless you plan to start wearing cold iron gloves whenever you're around one another. IT would probably make it MORE likely to be lashed out at."

Jamie looks at his father, then at his mother, who seems to have fallen asleep in a chair nearby. 

[Acutis D'Vart]

"...Well, not everyone here is at their best, but she can protect herself. The point is that not everyone is going to just be prey for you"

[Jamie D'vart]

"Is sh-she, um... ok-kay? I t-took fr-from her..."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"She'll be fine. She's just tired right now." He did look over towards Sophia with something of a more critical eye. "Tho I'm sure she'll feel much better with some rest and food."

[Sophia D'Vart]

"Mmfine," mumbles Sophia, shifting a little in her chair. "Jus' tired."

[Jamie D'vart]

"H-how am I supposed to p-p-practice c-c-control without....?"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Well, we practice when you aren't starved from almost dying. That makes things easier." He frowned. "Also if you can find something less direct to feed off of, that might also help."

[Jamie D'vart]

"...my paintings!"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"...Huh! I guess THAT'S why they made that one lady start crying at the art show." Acutis tilted his head. "I'd thought she was just having a terrible day."

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie shakes his head. "They... make people feel things, whatever I put into them. And I can feed off that."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Sounds like a good idea. Probably would also keep you from draining too much from anyone." He gave a bit of a smile. "Not to mention they're pretty good from what I've heard."

"Um. They're okay."

"I think they're excellent."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Huh, maybe we can get someone to put them around town." Acutis tave a long sigh. "And possibly find a place to stay in town for a few days. At least till we're sure you won't need to be talked down."
