[Jamie D'vart]

"you don't count either," he grumbles, sitting back on his heels. Almost inaudibly, he mutters, "you left me." Then the iridescence fades back into glitter in his eyes. 

[Acutis D'Vart]

Acutis gave a long, low sigh. The options weren't good, kid. This might have been even worse. He sat on his haunches. "Hey Jamie...can you hear me?"

[Jamie D'vart]

"I-- I'm scared," he whimpers. "What's happening to me?"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Well, between you almost dying, being kidnapped, and being bitten by Toby, you're Nature woke up fully a LOT sooner than it should have." Acutis sounded...somewhat sad. "So we're gonna have to talk about that now. Firstly, I want to promise you that you WILL be okay, you're just gonna have to manage a wolf and...well yourself."

[Jamie D'vart]

"I-- I k-k-killed s-s-someone," he stammers, sounding small, frightened. 

[Acutis D'Vart]

"That...yeah. He was trying to kill you, so your Nature was trying to keep him from hurting you." He won't meniton how that was probably the BEST thing it could have done. "And before you ask, no, that doesn't make you a bad person. Wanting to live and to keep someone from hurting you doesn't make you a bad person, alright?"

[Jamie D'vart]

"B-b-but... he's the closest th-thing I h-had to a f-father. He came to my p-play. He bought me a r-r-ose. And I k-k-killed him."

[Acutis D'Vart]

That...surprisingly hurt. "I...yeah...I'm sure he did some good things. But he was also part of the reason you almost died." Acutis looked down a little. "I...know that it was rough, but I was sure that being around me too much would have made this happen sooner. I didn't even know if you'd simply have a bit of a hunger or if you would have THIS kind of a problem.

[Jamie D'vart]

"Only because I k-killed him. That's why I almost died."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"There's no real guarentee that's why. And I'm biased, but I'd rather you be alive and have your own choices than whatever Steve was going to do to you. Liking someone doesn't...always mean they will do right by you, Jamie." And I'm sorry that you had to learn that this way.

[Toby]

"You did what you needed to to protect yourself, that's nothing to be ashamed of. Can't tell you how many times I've prayed the soilders prayer. I know you didn't want to hurt him but I'm glad your alive."

[Jamie D'vart]

"I d-didn't mean to h-hurt him, I just d-did."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"I know...you're not usually the kind to fight." He sat back down on his haunches. "You needed to stay alive and your Nature was what responded."

[Jamie D'vart]

"What if I hurt t-toby? Or m-mom?"

[Toby]

I gesture to the display case full of meddles and my iron cross meddle. "I'll start wearing my brass if it'll make you feel better, the iron in it will protect me. As for your mom in sure we can fin some small iron trinket for her as well."
