Tobys cabin

Jamie wakes late the next morning stiff and disoriented. It takes him a few moments to remember he's in tobys study before he gets out and wanders around looking for Toby. It's Tova he finds in the kitchen though who tells him he's in the packs long house and that tobys down at the lake. She gives him a picnic basket and directions down the path through the trees where he finds the lake and a scared and naked Toby walking out of it

JAmie covers his eyes, turning away. "Sorry!" he squeaks. 

[Toby]

I'd been so caught up in my thoughts I'd missed him approaching. "Sorry!" I say grabbing my boxers and tugging them on. "Covered." I say grabbing my towel and laying it down on the bank "come sit?" I offer

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie heads over with the picnic basket. "I uh. brought this?"

[Toby]

I grin "lunch...you should eat too." I say offering him sandwiche from the basket

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie takes a sandwich, devouring it rapidly. Seems he was hungry. 

[Toby]

"There's plenty more, you'll need to eat more now your a wolf, we burn more energy than people"

[Jamie D'vart]

"Thanks," he says with his mouth full. He swallows. "So what happened?" he asks, gesturing to toby's bare chest. 

[Toby]

"My last tore I was in Kandahar..... we were clearing a building one of the contractors we were working with tripped a bomb. I was far enough back it didn't kill me but I got a chest full of shrapnel. Buddy of mine helped me out. Got me to a cover point so I could pull out enough of it to heal enough to get to the evac point while he went back for the others. Spent three days fighting our way out of that city. Whole thing was an ambush." I shake the image of the burning City from my head going quite for a minute. "I've earned 3 Purple Hearts and a bunch of brass. Still all seams hollow when you see how it's all going over there. But it is what it is" I smile though it doesn't reach my eyes

"I... didn't really understand most of that," he admits. "But it sounds... really bad."

[Toby]

"It wasn't great. But I made it home" I smile "made it to you"

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie nods. "what was it like? War, I mean?"

[Toby]

"It was weird. I was in my element you know? I got to hunt and kill but it also sucked. I had to watch as people I cared for were hurt and killed. Had to protect the week and kill the strong. It fucks with you not gonna lie. Even a bastard like me doesn't come home unchanged."

[Jamie D'vart]

"do you think if I enlisted, I could be more like you?"

[Toby]

"Do you want that? I honestly don't think you'd do well if you enlisted. They'd break you. But if you want to hunt.... If you want to understand me.... I've got a new target you can join me in resurfacing and hunting if you want. Would also help feed your nature..... you don't have to though if you do t want to"
