"Is she gonna stay?"

[Toby]

"Doubt it. She can't stand me and is only tolerating Dixon because of her parole. When that's up she'll probably go find a new pack or start her own. She's got alpha abilities."

[Jamie D'vart]

'...will I ever see her again, or will she leave like Dad did?"

[Toby]

"We'll given she's been beating down my door all morning demanding to see you I think you're stuck with her a while longer."

[Jamie D'vart]

"Oh." A pause. "Do you hate her?"

[Toby]

I sigh "no Jamie I don't hate her, I don't have any feelings at all for her to be honest. I'm like a light switch I'm either on or off. I either feel for you or don't. It note hate it apathy."

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie nods, looking down. "... I'm sorry she pointed a gun at you."

[Toby]

"I did a lot worse to those who stood between you and me the other day. I don't hold it agenst her"

[Jamie D'vart]

"I know, but I feel like it made everything worse."

[Toby]

"Nah, just different."

[Jamie D'vart]

"What else do I  need to know?"

[Toby]

"When you're ready to join the pack. To be my mate, there's a ritual you will need to go through. Joining the pack is the easy one. You'll meet us in the grove on the full moon swear to uphold the laws of the pack and take the bite, but since you're already turned it'll just be a nibble to signify belonging.  As for being my official mate the ritual is a bite more involved."

I take a breath and continue. "You'll have to be a full pack member for a month before it can happen. Then we'll meet in the grove on the new moon. I'll call you from the pack and you'll come forward. I will ask you to be mine and you will refuse demanding proof I am worthy of you. You will then asking three tasks. They can be anything but they fall into three categories. A gift, to prove wealth. A task to prove cleverness which is typically a riddle or puzzle, and finally a test of magic. I will then have till the full moon to prove myself.  Once I do I will give you your gift, awnser, and proof of magic, you will then state your intent to mate me.  Then I will issue a challenge that anyone who thinks me not worthy of you come forward. Then an advocate you chose will fight me for you and lose. After that there's two paths to choose.  You can either choose to be a career, and look after the children I have and will have - it's a title not a mandated requirement there's lots of ways to care for children, or to undertow one further ritual to be a barere and carry my children.  That ritual entailed taking a special potion and reciting a spell together. Either way to close the mating ritual I will ehm 'claim' you in front of everyone then we're mates"

[Jamie D'vart]

"Wait does that -- does that mean we fuck in front of everyone?"

[Toby]

"No I bite you and give you a signet to wear, a ring, bracelet, armband, or callar. Then I carry you off and take you. Though some chose to do it in front of everyone it's not mandatory and I'd rather keep you to myself as much as I can."
