Tobys cabin

[Jamie D'vart]

He sniffles, but nods. "Okay. I... that's okay for now then. Maybe we'll talk before you do the next one?"

[Toby]

I'll let you know when I go hunting next and you tell me how much you want to be involved. Until then we'll have a nice camping trip and you can meet the pack. How's that sound" I say stroking his hair

[Jamie D'vart]

"I need to be a lot more solid before I can meet people. I'm... I don't know. It's harder to control myself when I'm upset."

[Toby]

"You've got a few days. I want them to settle from the moon a bit." My stomach grumbles and I look a the clock it's 3oclock and we have st eaten today. "How bout some lunch?"

[Jamie D'vart]

"Yeah. Okay."

[Toby]

The week passes quietly. Jamie settling in to being my mate he spends most of his time painting and asking small questions.  We play cards and joke but finally it's time to meet the pack. I drive him down to the big cabin down the way. Mala's made a feast and the kids are playing with some of the teens. My family is there. Everyone looks up as we come in and smiles. "Velcomd to our family Jamie" mala says giving him a hug "come make yourself at home help yourself to fold." I chuckle as she stress him towards the groaning table I nod to to a across the room and she put my daughter down and makes her way over to jame. Their in the same class at school and she's agreed to keep and eye on him for me

"Hi Jamie" I smile gently "we have English together. This must be a lot of you want to talk or have questions I might be able to awnser them better than the adults." I say  it's a big party and I can smell the anxiety on him but he'll be fine he just needs a friend.

[Jamie D'vart]

"Um," says Jamie, uncomfortable. She's pretty. Gorgeous, if the locker-room talk at school was anything to go by. "Um, no offense, and I hope this is all just a big misunderstanding but... um, I'm gay, so if you're hoping....?"

I laugh brightly "I'm married" I say pointing to a larg black man next to Toby. "I'm Dixon's omaga. We joined our packs last year. Dixon and Toby surged together. Their friends and I'm hoping we can be friends too." I smile

[Jamie D'vart]

"You're.... but you're sixteen?"

"Yep six wonderful years. I'll have my first litter in the next few years." I beam bouncing in exitment "look we wolfs run a bit differently than humans and magical folk. We're the oldest form of magic left expect for fey and maybe a few of the ancient vampires. But unlike fur folk wolves are born not made. Oh you can turn someone but that doesn't really make them a wolf. Theirs all kinds of ritual around it. And like I said you can ask me anything"

"Would... it hurt? Being turned?"

"It depends. If the turning is forced then it's extremely painful and can even kill you. But if you are willing then it goes one of two ways. You're turned by a pack mate and it's like getting a shot so it hurts a bit but not much and you're sore the day after, or you're turned by your mate in which case it's often coupled with extreme sexual desire and you're sore in other places the next day" I say with a soupy wink

Jamie flushes. "how does this... mate thing work?"

That depends on the pair. For Dixon and I well we live together. I go to school he goes to work we use protection until I'm 18 and able to carry to term. We also have rules we follow..."
