Go Down

Toby

"Need more to eat?" I ask gently

Jamie D'vart

Jamie's eyes snap open -- and they're black, no sign of his normal green. He grabs Toby's hand, quick as a flash, and Toby feels a sickening fear, something disorienting and oddly alien. Then he feels a sucking, as if his energy was starting to drain out of him.

Toby

I yank back hard breaking his grip and stumbling back. I open the door breaking the seal. "Dixon!" I shout down the hall a few moments later Dixon and Sophia are there.  Dixon holds me back too weak to fight her or argue that she's here. "Help him" I growl

Sophia D'Vart

Sophia grabs some chalk from her pocket and kneels, drawing rapidly -- far faster than he's seen witches cast before. She holds her hands apart, pushing power through the runes until she creates a soap-bubble of shimmering iridescence. she widens the bubble with her hands, until Jamie lashes out to grab her and his hand gets stuck in the bubble. She moves one hand to take his other hand, pushing it into the bubble. Then she presses a tender kiss to his forehead and pulls back, looking old, tired. "Call his father," she urges. "Don't touch him. Keep a damp cloth on his forehead and feed him ice chips. If Acutis can't get here until further out than tomorrow we'll get an IV going, keep his body going."

Toby

"He's on his way should be here soon." I murmur Dixon helping me up.

Dixon

"Thank you Sophia. I'll leave mala with him to keep watch but you both could use some rest and food." I say firmly guiding Toby from the room

Acutis D'Vart

Acutis had made pretty good time. He'd also made sure that five different people lost their keys to their cars, that the interstate would be backed up for a bit with at least a couple of overturned tractors and for SOME reason, the local police found some weird rockslide to deal with, leaving the roads clear for him to floor it all the way from the airport to the house. He rapped on the door in quick succession, despite the obvious look of worry and possibly anger on his face once it was opened. "Where is he?"

Dixon

"You must be Jamie's father. He's upstairs I'll take you too him. He's awake but, he's not himself. He drained most of tobys energy he's sleeping it off right now. Your ex is in the garden working with Mala, I can fetch her if you like." I say calmly leading the fae man inside

Acutis D'Vart

Acutis took a moment to look the man over before nodding. "I'll see him. Sophia should be there, too. Sorry about the drive home." HE took a moment. "Right, introductions. Acutis." He quickly took and shook the man's hand.

Dixon

"Dixon. I'll get them for you. Jamie's just up the stairs second door on the right."

Acutis D'Vart

"Good. I'll also need her help with making sure this doesn't end in disaster and fire." He paused. "Okay, maybe not fire, but definitely disaster." He headed up for the room. Knocking once he got to the door.

Jamie D'vart

Jamie sits with his head bowed, arms hugging his knees, rocking back and forth. When Acutis enters, his head snaps up, eyes now a shade of green somehow iridescent and fae, something so clearly not of this world he'd have trouble blending in at school. He hisses, and something in the air crackles and stirs, like a lizard flexing its frills to warn off a competitor. Acutis always knew this day would come, but it feels too soon.

Acutis D'Vart

Acutis gave a soft sigh. "Aww...damn. I'm sorry Jamie. I thought you had a lot more time before this'd happen." He frowned as he looked the boy over. "You...definitely should register...why didn't I see this?" He stayed outside of the circle, his own Nature alive in the air as he moved. "Can you even hear me over the sounds in your own head?" The question seemed to both noone and to Jamie.

Jamie D'vart

As he lifts his chin to hiss again, Acutis can see it: a collar, leather, with metal runes worked onto it. Familiar runes -- runes his Nature seems to oppose, more so than it does all runes, them being static and unchanging. Of course. Runic versions of spells are harder to mess with, and this spell is one he helped Sofia develop.

Acutis D'Vart

Acutis sucked on his teeth. "...yeah, that would do it." He glared at the collar a moment before returning his attention to Jamie. "Look...I had hoped this would spare you. That maybe, even with the feedings that you wouldn't have to go through this. Unfortunately, it seems you were a little too much like me for that to happen. And for that, I'm sorry. You don't get to have the same choices I wanted you to, but I won't leave you like this. So...how about you calm down and we can talk about what happens now without the possible chance of death or coma."
