Jamie peeks at himi through a lock of his hair. "You're.. really not mad?"

"I'd like that.... How are you settling in...."

"Not... great, to be honest. It doens't feel like I can really talk to anyone but Toby and Tova."

Jamie peeks up. "Really? I thought I messed everything up in front of her."

"You asked for help when you felt helpless and scared of letting us down. You let her protect you. Thats all she wants

"But I was supposed to be the alpha," he whines. "They were looking up to me for protection."

"No you werent you were mever memt to ne alpha. You did your best. No one expects the baby sitter to br a parent. And thats what you and toga ate when wr leave you baby sat the pack and yurned it iver to ys with ni broken bones and with only a little tii much Suggar"
