[Acutis D'Vart]

"Couldn't you just use the gemstones out of the lockbox?"

[GamesMaster]

"The....?"

[Sophia D'Vart]

Sophia shakes her head. "That went to Mikael's schooling. He didn't get the scholarship, but he got into Cornell and I wanted him to be able to go."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Ah...no, that's definitely the right choice." Actuis frowned. "Also I have no idea how they didn't give him the scholarship. He's clearly far and above the best writer they had going in." He sighed. "I can see if any of the other lockboxes are still active and I didn't end up using them for various anchor points." With that, Acutis closes his eyes and takes a breath.

When he opens them again, they've taken on a more deep emerald hue than normal. "Sophia...I would ask for your assistance in establishing a new anchor point to allow me a haven to hone in on. I will prepare the necessary materials and will only ask for your expertise." His voice was also a lot more formal and...careful? something of his usual air of ease was gone.

[Sophia D'Vart]

"Of course. I may not wish to... marry my life to yours any longer, but for the children, I will always assist."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Good. That will take a few days time." There's a wince and a closing of eyes before his tone changes back to normal. "Uuugh, I always hate having to do that, but it's better than fighting too many things at once." Acutis gave a long sigh. "...and I get that. Things weren't ever easy, even when you were happy. I just want to make sure Jamie has every chance to be what he wants to be."

[Sophia D'Vart]

Sophia looks to Rich. "I'm going to be... probably indisposed a lot. Will you make sure he doesn't get pressured into something he doesn't want to be? He doesn't have to be like his father, and I want him to be sure of that."

[GamesMaster]

Rich winces, but nods. "I'll keep an eye on him."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"I don't want him to BE like me. I know that it's...not something he would be alright with. He's got too much of a good heart to deal with most of it and if he has any kind of choice, I want to make sure he can keep that."

[Sophia D'Vart]

"Just be sure you tell that to those damn wolves," she mutters. 

[Acutis D'Vart]

"I have. Several times, in fact. I'm fairly sure they understand that if I think they're coercing him that it would end badly for all of us."

[GamesMaster]

"Nobody's coercing anyone," says Rich firmly. "Are we all done here, do you think?"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"This is probably not the time to check and see if there's any lingering effects of what that man did to Sophie. Partially because I'm still furious and that'd probably not be a good place to be for delicate work...so I think so, yeah."

[GamesMaster]

"Good. Then let's break here, before we make things worse."
