Andreas Amell

"Why not?" Andreas says strongly. "Even if we're never-- if he never-- I would like to try. To at least get to know him. Them really."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Helene Dakesh

Helene frowns, but it only takes a moment before ne relaxes. "Ah. Your father. Yes, that would be a good idea."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Andreas Amell

"More my grandfather, if he can be called that," Andreas says with some bitterness. "Because he's... I mean, it's more urgent."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Helene Dakesh

"Ah." Helene pauses, then asks, "Do you... require, or even request... a family tree?"
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Andreas Amell

Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Helene Dakesh

"You have been given minimal information about your heritage, and you will not receive full information from the catfolk, as they do not consider half the genetic heritage. However, in my research, I have detailed many family trees of the catfolk, and have your lineage if you should want it."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Andreas Amell

Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Bethany

As her son goes into a pensive funk, Beth sighs. "I still have the one you did for me, parēns." she says quietly, using the draconic, non-gendered, word for parent or close ancestor that she and her siblings eventually settled on for Helene. "In my room here, top drawer of my nightstand."

Helene nods. "From the best I can tell, Adonis and Arius were birthed from Michael's mother, Miriam.  She passed away during the riots, but that makes Michael your uncle by human standards, and of course Arius your aunt even by catfolk standards. I have a full lineage map proving that Adonis is the rightful heir to his Founder seat."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Andreas Amell

"Oh," Andreas repeats, a little overwhelmed at it all being so... Official? Formal? No, not... Those aren't right but my brain is just... spinning. Need to settle myself. Okay. Okay. Deep breath. Picture a rose. Focus on how the light shifts as the sun moves over it. Track the shadows, note how the hue changes. Deep breath. "I would like that," he says after a long moment, his voice much steadier but a little distant.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Helene Dakesh

"Then I will chart you a copy before we leave," ne replies, voice firm.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Andreas Amell

"Do... Do you have any histories? About.. about the people on that tree?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Helene Dakesh

"Not so much, but Cadmus will."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Andreas Amell

Andreas nods slowly, trying not to be bothered-- or hurt-- by the dark look on his mother's face. "That... that sounds... good, I think."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Helene Dakesh

"Then, may you be well while we are gone." Helene smiles, the subject clearly settled, and resumes eating ner food.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."
