Go Down

Andreas Amell

"Hmm?" Andreas had been taken aback by being addressed, so caught up in his nerves about the upcoming meal. As he tunes back in, he's still nervous and distracted, so he's a trifle rude and cuts Dil off.

"Yes, of course, ah, here," he says quickly, carefully taking out a few coins from his normal purse. He hides the wince when he notices he's taken out two silvers instead of the coppers he meant to grab but doesn't go back on it. Twenty-four copper is small enough to me and does look like he needs a good meal or ten. "Here, this should take care of you for a bit. You should seek help at one of the temples though; begging can't be very reliable, I would think."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Charon Tethras

Charon watches from across the street. I don't believe it -- he's actually giving him coins!

Diligence

Dil has an expression of gratitude on it-- and then he actually looks at the coins and his tail arcs up in surprise. "Woah, that's-- ah, a thousand blessings on you, merciful sir?"

And now Andreas is looking uncomfortable as he rubs the back of his hand and shifts around a little. "Ah, yes, well, it's-- I hope it helps?"
All I really want from life is a cozy den, my real family, good food
and a couple dozen skeleton servants.

NPCs

Looking over at Charon-- up, technically, but only by a few inches!-- Joy asks in a low voice, "what should we do? We never planned for what if he actually gave up some coin."
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Charon Tethras

"Uh. We walk over and go, surprise, haha what a good prank?" he wonders, tail twitching.

Diligence

"Yeah, I guess that could--"

"Huh. Didn't expect you to be this nice of a person," Dil comments, tilting his head to peer at Andreas, not that he can see all that well with the pitiful blindness curse he'd put om himself so he could skip the blindfold. "I guess maybe you pass."

"Or our brother could just Dil," Joy sighs as Andrfeas gapes at Dil with confusion.
All I really want from life is a cozy den, my real family, good food
and a couple dozen skeleton servants.

Charon Tethras

Charon sighs, heading across the road. "Hey. This is Dil," he adds.

Andreas Amell

"Huh?" Andreas whips his head around at the sound of his voice speaking with a Sweetwater tang. "Charon? You're here! That's-- wait, Dil?" He looks back at the kobold, who has already tucked away the coins (enough for a week of meals and a book! Maybe even two if they're in shoddy condition). Dil waves a little and Andreas weakly waves back, still obviously rather confounded.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Charon Tethras

"It was a test," he says, rubbing the back of his head. "You know. Like in fairy stories."

Andreas Amell

"Oh. Oh! This is--" He glances at Dil, then Charon. "Dil is your foster brother. Err. Your brother?" he corrects himself uncertainly.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Charon Tethras

"Yeah. And Joy, she's over there."

Andreas Amell

Looking just past Charon, he automatically offers the young girl a polite bow. "I-- I see? I think." He shakes his head a little, then visibly puts the entire encounter out of mind. "Right, well, we should get to lunch, yes?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Charon Tethras

"Yes, I suppose."

Diligence

"Food yes please."
All I really want from life is a cozy den, my real family, good food
and a couple dozen skeleton servants.

Andreas Amell

Andreas snorts a little, looking amused. "I have a cousin that thinks the same way," he comments before waving them to follow him inside. The restaurant is clean and airy, built primarily out of dark stained wood and brass fittings. It's not a fancy place-- which is good, given that the three immigrants wouldn't meet even the most forgiving dress code of anywhere styling itself as fancy-- but it's not rundown or cheaply built either.

Of far more importance to the three is the mouthwatering scents of grilled meat, spiced sauces and rubs, and baked bread.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?
