[Diligence]

"State your cases?" Dil suggests. When he'd gotten caught slipping away and Joy had insisted on following him, he'd just kind of... not argued at the time but it seems like the time to argue is now. Great. I hate arguments. 

[GamesMaster]

"You can't just leave me behind. It's immoral of you to send a child off to... to Kendranasi." 

[Charon Tethras]

"We can't take you with us either. You're clearly underage. You won't be able to work and you'll have caseworkers paying too much attention to us, they might realize we're all underage."

[Diligence]

Dil eyes the two of them for a moment. "I mean... I'm far more likely to be seen as underage," Dil reasons. "Humans don't get small races, they always assume we're kids."

[Charon Tethras]

"Well Nyra's like half merikos, and Draslina's all kinds of mixed up, so you'll be fine. But she doens't look adult at all."

[Diligence]

Proving once again that smart people can be incredibly dumb, Dil suggests, "what if she stuffs her shirt? That does it for mammals, right?"

[Charon Tethras]

"She's not tall enough. And her face is... there's differences between an adult face and a child face. She's got a baby face, all round and chubby. No offense."

[GamesMaster]

"If we're going to Nyra, can't I be enspelled or something?" Joy asks, desperate. "They'll torture me, Charon!"

[Diligence]

"She could be our little sister?" Dil offers uncertainly. "Our parents died in, umm, a fire? And now we're moving to a big city for jobs to take care of our little sister?"

[Charon Tethras]

"Three kids of three different races? What were our parents?"

[Diligence]

"Adventurous?" 

[Charon Tethras]

Charon makes a face. "Gross." Then he pauses. "What if we were like, together, instead of brothers? Then she could still be your sister. That's only two races for two parents: a merikos troll with a kobold."

[Diligence]

"When were we considering traveling separately?" Dil asks with confusion.

[Charon Tethras]

"I mean like... a family unit. Like... dating."

[Diligence]

"Uh. Why would that work?" Dil asks, now even more confused. "I mean, if they don't buy her being old enough to be without an obvious parent, then why would they buy her dating you?"
