Helene Dakesh

"It is very unlikely to produce a Samsaran-esque neutrois, though a dwarven-base is more common."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"But maybe blue anyway," Varric quips with a smile.

Helene Dakesh

Helene gives a fond, exhasperated huff. "Perhaps."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"I like blue," he protests mildly. "It's a good color. Strong, soothing."

Helene Dakesh

Helene blushes faintly, rolling ner eyes. "Yes, yes."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"I love you, mind and soul," Varric says softly, any hint of teasing vanishing. "I'm going to stumble and balk, but I want to see this happen for you. For us."

Helene Dakesh

Helene nods, tears misting up in ner eyes. "I love you as well, Varric. I am glad to be going on this adventure with you."

As Varric looks away, surrendering to the discomfort that he feels when ever Helene cries, he spies something unusual -- a note being slid under his door.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

He doesn't rush for it of course, not with the very vital task of holding Helene'a hand, ah, at hand. But once ne's gathered neself enough to move onto ripe nir face dry, he slips over to the door to sate his curiosity.

GamesMaster

It's just barely peeking out, so he has to open the door to grab it -- and therefore, he can't stop himself from noticing how low to the ground the person escaping down the hall is. A child? Like, not a teen, a young child? That's got to be either Bari or Silas, and he doesn't see horns or long hair to indicate Bari.

As he unfolds the note he realizes the depths of his mistake: this is another note from the mystery math prodigy, and now he knows their identity.

Varric

Helene Dakesh

"What is wrong, beloved?"
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

After a pause to think, he asks instead, "did you ever puzzle out who our mystery math writer was?"

Helene Dakesh

"No. It had slipped my mind. It would likely have to be one of the younger ones, however, unless one of the teens is a very good liar." A pause, then, "What are the odds it's your older daughter?"
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"Zero," Varric replies, then pauses. "Well. Five to ten?" Could be a messenger after all.

Helene Dakesh

Helene frowns. "How are you so certain?" Generally he'd give at least 20% odds to just about anything plausible.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."
