Bethany

Gaze on her son, Beth asks quietly, "hours, days, weeks, years? Do they have any idea?"

GamesMaster

"Likely weeks. Not years."

Bethany

Beth presses a hand to her forehead, muttering something about timing. "I see. Well, thank you for informing us. I'm sure you'll be putting out word for when the funeral rites will be?"

Andreas Amell

"Mother!" Andreas hisses softly, though Don isn't so old and rusty he doesn't catch it. "We're sorry for your hardship and wish your-- I mean, my... We wish him a gentle end."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

Adonis's ears go back, only a twitch, but having the same tells, Andreas can tell Beth's words hit him like a slap to the face. "Of course. He is resting at my home, if you change your mind." So saying, he sets down the teacup and stands.

Andreas Amell

"I'll show you out," Andreas says quickly, causing Beth's lips to turn white as she presses them closed.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"Of course. Thank you, Andreas." He gives a small token bow to Beth as a farewell, then turns to follow his son.

Andreas Amell

Once they're a room away, Andreas lets out a somewhat shaky breath. "I won't claim to be... fine with how things were done, when I was born I mean," he says, eyes fixed firmly ahead. "But what Mother said-- how she said it, that was out of line regardless. I'm sorry."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

Adonis nods, accepting the apology. "She and my father were close, once," he sighs. "...she was close with much of what humans would deem my family. Now, what you would call my brother and I would simply call a good friend has taken over as Keeper, his mother has passed on, and my father is finally coming to join her."

Andreas Amell

Dreas whips around, staring at Adonis. "Wait, Keeper? Miki?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

Adonis blinks. "Yes?" he says, finally. "My father was Keeper before him, and trained him."

Andreas Amell

"He never mentioned he knew you," Dreas says, sounding a little dazed. And perhaps a little hurt?
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"Why should he? Our relationship is complicated, and not easy for outsiders to understand."

Andreas Amell

"But he knows? That you're my... that you..." Andreas gestures between the two of them somewhat helplessly.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"I cannot say for certain what he does or does not know," hedges Adonis. "But it is likely. Did you... not know?" he asks, carefully. "I have never kept it secret. I had figured the whole town knew."
