Go Down

Charon Tethras

"I know what it is, more.. why go there?"

Andreas Amell

"Ah! In general, because druids have, mayhap not better, but different healing options than clerics. It's also just a beautiful place with a lot of outdoorsy activities. More specifically for my Grandparents, they want to talk to Dau, one of Raplin's Daughters, to get his expertise in crafting a ritual."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Charon Tethras

Charon studiously doesn't look at Dil. "What kind of ritual?"

Andreas Amell

"I'm not entirely sure?" Andreas replies-- which is true, he's pants at rituals and most arcane stuff in general, but also it's his Grandne's business to share or explain. "Why?"

Charon Tethras

"Just curious. I like rituals," he adds. "Okay. So we can do this in a few days, I guess. Do I stay... your house will be empty, right?"

Andreas Amell

Andreas starts to nod, then pauses. "Oh. Uh. Right. No, I..." He coughs softly. "I'm actually supposed to ask my-- ask Adonis if I can stay with him." He swallows, expression awkward. "Our..." He sighs, then shakes his head. "Fuck it, this is too confusing to dance around. Our dad is Adonis, one of the Founder Lights. His dad is the retired Keeper for the catfolk of Cattown. But catfolk tradition and laws dictate that only one parent is actually the parent so Adonis is... legally and culturally not really our dad? Even though he is."

Charon Tethras

Charon blinks a moment, then his eyes go flinty. So he doesn't want me. Fuck him. "I see..."

Andreas Amell

"It's really weird," Andreas mumbles, not seeing the look in Charon's eyes. "The whole thing is... I'm trying not to judge the catfolk here over it, they have their reasons and their own traditions. But it stings, you know?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Charon Tethras

"Yeah," he says softly, looking away. "My... my mother always said my birth parents didn't want me. Gave me away to a stranger."

Andreas Amell

"That's a damn--" Andreas swallows the rest of his initial, heated, response. "That's... incorrect. Regardless of the details, I know that my mother would have sooner died a dozen times before giving up her child." He hesitates, then adds, "and, back then, so would have Adonis. I've only heard bits and pieces, but at the time, he trying to co-parent. I think... my guess is that the kidnapping broke something between them and..."

Charon Tethras

"And you want me to stay with this guy, huh?"

Andreas Amell

"He doesn't know me as well, so any slip-ups are way less likely to be spotted," Andreas explains. "But you'll be able to visit the aunts and uncles and such, hang out with our cousins. Just in smaller doses, to, again, try and stay, uh, undercover?"

Diligence

"Hmm. If your met-ups with your Clan proper are scheduled, then Char can get briefed beforehand," Dil suggests, voice muffled as his snout is buried in the plate of bugs. Spotting that, Andreas stares, then scrunches his face up.
All I really want from life is a cozy den, my real family, good food
and a couple dozen skeleton servants.

Charon Tethras

"Yeah. That makes sense. And you'll, what, work my job?" A snort shows how unlikely he thinks that idea is.

Andreas Amell

"Uh, I guess so? I mean, assuming I'm capable or can learn quick enough, I suppose. I'd hate to cost you your job," Andreas replies, clearly not knowing what he's signing up for.
