"Not my preference; laws are too fluid and flawed to be a proper, trustworthy, system. But I am pleased one of his nature is skilled with such, in hopes that the average improves."

[Helene Dakesh]

"I like to think of it as an elaborate game he is playing with the other Lights," admits Helene. "Where the rules of the game are immutable but the rules they generate are part of the game."

[NPCs]

Sage cocked his head to the side. "Rules of... ah, I think I see. The underlying structure of government is, in mortal terms, unchanging, but the details of specific laws regarding the society are constantly refined and altered. Hmm. An interesting viewpoint..."

[Helene Dakesh]

"And yet it explains much," ne agrees. "In any event. Is there more I can do to ensure your comfort?"

[NPCs]

"Ah! My apologies, I've run you rather past your schedule, haven't I? No, no, I seem to be most comfortable, Seeker Helene, thank you." He bowed to nem, smiling himself.

[Helene Dakesh]

"Excellent. Please do reach out if there's anything that can be done to improve the quality of your stay." Helene bows, adding, "I am told that outsiders can only dream while on the Material Plane, so you may want to try a nap before dinner. Dreaming can be... pleasant."

[NPCs]

"So I have heard," Sage mused thoughtfully. "Neb--" He choked on the word. "Ah, that is, rather, I mean, someone. Yes, a colleague, a colleague of mine, has said as much before." As he, well, as he babbled, he was looking around furtively as if fearing an ambush.

[Helene Dakesh]

Neb... surely he doesn't mean... Helene nods, giving a bow. "Please alert this one if your dreaming is unsatisfactory in any way." Not that I could do anything about it, but Varric has some tinctures that might work. 

[NPCs]

"Yes, thank you," Sage acknowledged, gathering his composure. "Than I shall see you at sunrise?"

[Helene Dakesh]

"Of course. May your evening be pleasant."

Helene backs out of the room, shutting the door, before turning to head down the hall toward Varric, a giddy smile on ner lips and a wild look in ner eyes. 

[Varric Thedas]

Oh boy. Moving quickly, Varric stepped close and pulled his spouse into a hug. "Deep breath. Divide thirty two by pie, twelve digits in. Then burst."

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene slowly stops vibrating in his arms, but ne does sob happy tears on his shoulder. "The Ancient One Himself!" 

[Varric Thedas]

Varric glanced around, then started to gently guide Helene to their quarters. "Yeah, that was, ah, unexpected to say the least. Any idea why he's here?" Is this becoming a Hero (Fate's Bitch) Thing?

[Helene Dakesh]

"He said He's on assignment, but it's an assignment He could have offered to another, lesser tulwath, so... clearly he has mysteries of his own." A pause, then a whisper, "he almost name-dropped Nebula The Brilliant."
