"Shy little thing, aren't you?" Zee asks kindly, offering the girl a purple inked pen. "Well, no fear. We're.... well we're not exactly the best people, but we are good to our friends, and that's all that matters really."

Keith gestures with a thumb over his shoulder. "I've gotta get the goods unloaded and be off again. Nice seeing you all again. Good luck, Kimiko."

And with that, he starts to depart. Shinigami, taking her cue, moves toward the hallway on the other side of the common room. "This way's the rest of the base."

Morden still wasn't sure WHY Marbles made them laugh...probably from the image of Kenji rolling around in a glass sphere...at least, that's what they thought of it. Some places thought it was some complex rule of personal realities, but that seemed silly. They returned their attention to Keith as he was leaving.

"Make sure that you don't drop anything." Which had only happened once, but had been a replacement monitor for Morden's work rig...the non-portable one that is. That done, they turned their attention to Kimiko, sizing her up for a moment. "...well, at least you're not freakishly tall." Morden was a bit on the short side, maybe an inch or two shy of five and a half feet. That, coupled with a rather young face and slim build made placing their age a little difficult. "Didn't they give you a datapad?" Which was more a response to the asking for a pen.

Rednaxela

Kenji waves to the departing Keith, "Best of luck out there!"

Rolling around in a glass sphere, would not be Kenji's cup of tea, nope, not one bit. Not that he knows Morden has pondered this notion, but... yeah. He glances to Morden as they make the height comment. Yeah... that was a thing wasn't it. Kenji for his part was a little over 6 feet tall, and... sometimes wished he could be a bit shorter, though... tall is good for seeing over crowds.

Pens... as much as people used datapads these days, Kenji kinda liked pens anyway personally. Particularly nice old pens, the kinds good for calligraphy. Sure one could use a stylus on a datapad but it just wasn't the same. Oh right, let's not get lost in thought.

Were Siegfried party to this mental image, he would suggest they all break out that retro game with monkeys inside prize capsules or whatever it was. But he is not.

Kimiko takes the pen, nodding/bowing her thanks and quickly writes down on her arm 'Zee-san' and 'Maa-kun'. Looking rather relieved, she hands the pen back, "Thank you, Zee-san." She gave a faint smile. She's clearly kind, though she seems to lack energy. She nods to Keith and looks to Morden. Kimiko is only about 5'6"-ish, so is far from the freakishly tall that was described. She nodded slowly, "Yes...? Datapad...? Oh... I forgot it." She smiled awkwardly, then noticed Shinigami leaving, "Ah! Shi-chan, w-wait for me!" She went to take a step forward and tripped over herself, falling face-first. "...Ow..."

accalia

Zee visibly twitches at the honorific, but before she can get a word in edgewise to correct the FNG she's managed to get distracted and trip over her own feet.

Sighing inside her head, Zee moves to offer a hand in righting the poor, flustered, girl.

CalamityJade

Morden gave something of a sigh. That girl had to have SOME mutation if the boss did any sort of research. Then again, they'd been grabbed mostly for making things break themselves in catastrophic ways and didn't look it. Might be something like that. They looked over towards Siegfried. "Hey, you find any info on the new girl?"

yamikuronue

Shinigami stares at the girl openly. Well. Crap. This was going to be a nightmare getting her up to speed. "Zee, tag along. When we're done with the tour you can put her through her paces in the gym."

Everyone had done a benchmark when they first joined the team: how much weight they could lift, how fit they were at cardio, whether they could run a simple obstacle course. The numbers, however pitiful, were recorded; the pass/fail was solely recorded in the expression on Shinigami's face. Siegfried had gotten a scowl for his physicals. Zee had gotten the only real smile.

Shinigami leads the way into the tunnel, not bothering to check if Zee is following as well. "Weapons locker," she says, gesturing to one door with a keypad on the outside. Another door, across the hall: "Labs."

Siegfried seems startled to be addressed again; usually, he stayed in the background until he was needed on a mission. "Not yet."

Hitoshirenu Shourai

Looking up from her very uncomfortable position, her face extremely red, not just from the new injury, she reaches out and takes Zee's hand, "Th-thanks," she says, slightly muffled. She checks her shoes after being pulled up and notices that they are properly tied-- she was just clumsy. She frowns, embarrassed. "S-Sorry," she bows quickly, then pays attention to where she's going, only slightly in a hurry, following after Shinigami.

accalia

Zee nods at the order. it'll be interesting to see how this girl holds her own in the gym.

"As you will, commander." she intones before following the two on the tour.

yamikuronue

She passes two doors without remarking on them; they're both labelled "Storage", with one side being storage A and the other being storage B. The doors on this side of the compound are further apart than the other, indicating that the rooms are larger, and the corridor is straighter as well. Finally, it dead-ends into a double-doors, which Shinigami pushes through.

The "gym" is a huge area, unfinished; the floor is therefore stone, grey, swirled with darker bands. The outer edge is set up with a series of obstacles: tires, monkey bars, hurdles, and the like. It's all clearly mobile and configurable, with many pieces being on wheels locked into place. In the center, there are several distinct areas: one with many weight machines, another with gymnastic equipment, another with various cardio machines. Forty feet above their heads hang a series of nets; above them can be glimpsed, distantly, trapeze equipment and platforms. At the far end is another pair of double-doors, likely leading to storage.

Hitoshirenu Shourai

The girl looks in both awe and horror at the incredible array of training things. Because of her health concerns, she was exempt from phys. ed. class, and the idea of having to use these gives her goosebumps. She stays in the doorway, half-hiding behind one of the doors, frowning.

accalia

Zee, following at the rear smiles slightly at the new kid's reaction to seeing the gym. She always liked breaking the recruits into the exercise, in pushing them to their limits, and beyond to the point they realized their limits had only been in their head. That was one of the best perks of her job.

CalamityJade

Morden had...not done much better than Siegfried. Running was fine, but anything with lifting could probably be better.
