The Black Dirge [Sci-fi]

"Marbles, and no I haven't lost 'em." he says, patiently waiting at the door, then adding "Was just checking on you."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

Kimiko carefully stumbles out of the closet, not bothering to close the door, wrapped up in her blanket with just her face and Yukki's head poking out. She awkwardly unlocks the door and steps back for it to open, "I-It's unlocked."

[Rednaxela]

Kenji slowly opens the door, very slowly, with a sigh saying "Zee been too hard on you?" Zee is... not an easy trainer, he thinks to himself. A bit harsh really... Ahhhh memories...

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"Zee...? Oh... no, Zee was... the problem wasn't Zee..." She waddles over to her bed and sits, "Shi-chan yelled at me... it was really scary..." considering her current state of cocoon, that seems a bit obvious. "You... won't shout at me... will you?"

[Rednaxela]

Kenji slowly follows her in, wish a sigh stating "No, of course not. Shouting is not my thing. Bad for the voice and all that." After a little chuckle he then adds, "Shi-chan eh... Shinigami is... kind of intense. They get a bit easily upset. I'm sure they'll calm down some... never entirely though... they're... kind of like that. I'm sure they're not hostile to you though..."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"She seemed nice until I couldn't tell her how my powers work... Then she yelled at me..." the girl flops over on the bed and frowns. "I told her I could heal, but she got so mad... it was really scary."

[yamikuronue]

"The wrong package must have been delivered," Shinigami replies. "The one I received was severely damaged, I won't be able to make use of it."

[Rednaxela]

Kenji can't help but chuckle a little, "Ah... they're probably a bit spoiled with getting people who aren't quite so new to their powers... So what sort of healing is it anyway? It's okay if you don't fully understand, just curious what you do know."

"So, what you're telling me is that you called me without verifying with the deliverer." The more conversational tone seemed to drop a few degrees. "And how exactly can you determine that the package is unusable in less than a full day's time?"

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"Ummm..." Kimiko seems to be thinking hard, "I don't remember it very well... it all happened so fast..." she exits her cocoon of blankets, her expression one of deep thought, hugging her stuffed bear with one arm and having her other's index finger scratching lightly at her head. "Ummmm... well, I was walking home from class with a friend... then there was an accident... and she was hurt... and I remember doing what you're supposed to do for wounds... you know, press on it, make the bleeding stop? And... I don't remember how, but... I made her wound go away... and it really hurt... and I felt so dizzy... next thing I knew, I was told I needed to escape before I was found out. Does any of that make sense?"

"Basic diagnostics," she says, tone even and ice cold. "The package failed the most basic benchmarks. Best  I can figure, you meant to take her to someone who'll coddle the rookie until she's good enough to send into the field."

[Rednaxela]

Kenji is nodding slowly while listening to Kimiko's story. He sighs a little, a said look on his face, "Ah... that explains it...  anyway... yeah, that makes sense." Then with a little laugh he adds, "Maybe next time Zee bruises someone, you could see if your powers work on something more minor? Might be best to test things out further where stakes are... not so high..."

Kenji finds himself really hoping Kimiko's power is not one of those ones that even after awakening to it, still requires intense emotion to trigger... really really hope not...

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

Kimiko nods slowly, and winces as she seems to move oddly, rubbing at her belly. "I... guess I can try..." She looks up into Keith's eyes, "Are you hurt..." then checks her arm for confirmation, "Maa-kun?" At a quick glance, Keith could easily see that Kimiko has all their names on her arm, a bit smudged from sleeping, but still legible. At least she's trying!

Kenji's face shows a look of confusion for multiple reasons. He wasn't used to being called that. Sure, honorifics on his normal regular name, but on his alias? Ah well, nothing to fuss over. Ah right, the question, "Oh... I'm not hurt currently." Then after a pause he adds, "Are you okay yourself?"

She stares at him with a blank expression, answering as though on auto-pilot, "Yes, I'm fine." Anyone with any sort of intelligence could tell she wasn't fine, not in the slightest. She's surrounded by strangers she's supposed to get along with to fight in a war she wanted no part of and could die at any moment because she's now affiliated with them. Yeah, totally fine.
