The Black Dirge [Sci-fi]

"Hmm.... we'll go up and over then. Three follow close behind me, Four and five follow as best you can but give us half to make sure the far side is clear before you poke your heads over." She orders, telling Kimiko and Kenji to wait thirty seconds after she and Morden go over the obstacle before following, and making sure she's the first one over and into any nasty trap on the far side.

Kenji calls back, "Very well Big-O." Kenji liked not being in the front lines... usually. Depends though, as against certain armaments, it was all too fun to use his power.

Morden would have gladly switched with Kenji given the chance. There was only light grumbling as they got into position to follow after Zee made her way up. Idly, Morden wondered if they could find a 'costructive' way of making their frustrations known that would not result in long training times or being killed.

"R-Roger that! Four is ready to proceed! O-Over!!" She's getting kinda excited about this whole mission thing, it's like they're doing a movie or a play thing, which was just kinda neat.

"understood." Zee replies over the comms, a giant grin in her voice. "by the plan then."

Zee then starts climbing the obstacles, reaching the top quickly and dropping off the far side as per the plan.

As she's just reaching the top, Morden plants a foot wrong, and the whole tower quivers. Several pieces slide out from the bottom, and the pile sways, about to drop them both....

Kenji nods to Kimiko with a look of amusement as she roger'ed back there. Right, time to get started. From where he is, he watches Zee climb and Morden start... crap... it shouldn't be moving like that... Kenji moves in closer, trying to not be in range of falling debris but... can't let shit go wrong again...

Morden felt the debris shift and had to make several quick decisions. They didn't know all of what was making up the pile, that riding it to the ground would be safe, that jumping off would be safe, OR if there would be guns pointed at them upon impact. Morden also wasn't sure that the pile wasn't a big trap and about to be some sort of sentry-bot left there to kill them for walking on it. Given that cheery fact, a plan of 'get the fuck away from it' seemed like the best and Morden tried to make a somewhat good leap and roll from the pile back the way they'd been walking from...of course that might have been a better plan had they not picked aiming a bit for the right to not crash into people and tried VERY hard not to cry out in pain when they clipped a side of what Morden assumed to be a table, from the fact it didn't give and the particular amount of pain now coming from their arm.

Zee hears the pile shift behind her and... is that a grunt of pain? "Three, Report. What's your status?"

"Painful! Over!" Yep, Morden was sure that moving wasn't the wisest plan. That had definitely hit ribs  and they weren't sure what else on the way down. "Clipped something trying to not have a big pile fall on-" And apparently long sentences were also not a good idea. "Hit...debris. Don't think I'm bleeding. Over."

"I read you Three, Are you mobile?" Zee asks, looking over the debris that she can see, trying to gauge how stable it is. "Four, Five, Can you get to Three?"

Already starting to rush over to Morden before needing to be given the instruction, Kenji responds "Five here, already on it, Big-O". Kenji starts taking a look over Morden and glances in Kimiko's direction briefly

"O-oh! Right! I am, uhh, en route to three!" Kimiko trips over herself in the dark, but manages to stay upright! With some help from Kenji to feel out the darkness, she makes it over to Morden. "Okay, um... hold still." She places her hands on Morden's side, concentrating, focusing on her breathing, and goes into a trance-like state. Morden's feels the pain fade away, flowing out of them like a wave, which makes them feel a bit more tired, but without injury. Kimiko winces, dropping out from the state and takes her hands away, "There."

Morden winced slightly at the hands being placed, but blinked at the sudden lack of pain. "W...huh?" They blinked. That....didn't hurt. Tired, yeah, but considering that bruised or cracked ribs were the previous thought, this was better. "That's...it?" They seemed genuinely surprised.

"Yes...? What were you expecting...?"
