Go Down

Hammer Sister

"That would make it less objectionable..."

I wonder if Erika can use that crystal the way this youth does...

"This may seem like an odd question, but how familiar are you with Pulse engines?"

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

"Not really at all. I've never looked at one up close."

Hammer Sister

"There's one in the museum; I'm kinda curious about what you'll see when you look at it."

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

T frowns. "I'm not exactly dressed for a museum."

Despite doing her best to keep clean, T's only got two sets of clothes, and this is the better of them: the slacks are stained, and there's a tear in the corner of the pocket of her button-down shirt that shows her similarly-stained undershirt. Her hair is unkempt, hacked short by unskilled hands and a pair of craft scissors except where she let it stay longer on one side to try and hide the scar across her brow and cheek. Her boots are her best item: well made, sturdy, and warm, they clearly cost a pretty penny. That and her folding knife are her prized possessions, though now she has Crys to add to that number.

Unlike before, however, T's not trying to get an outfit out of this; she is careful to avoid eye contact, fighting off the shame that threatens to rise a blush to her cheeks. The clothing was an excuse -- she's trying to avoid being seen by anyone who might be looking for her, or know someone who is, or hell, maybe she's even got a reward out by now -- but mentioning it reminds her again about her situation. Despite how hard she tries to convince herself everything's fine, she'd really rather have a home if she could.

Hammer Sister

It's not really about the clothing, is it...

"How about if you were in disguise?"

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

T looks down at her hands. "What sort of disguise?" she asks, cautiously.

If he tries to shove me in skirts and a corset, I'll look even more recognizable, but of course I can't say that or he'll guess where I came from...

Hammer Sister

"Nothing fancy; in fact, the more nondescript, the better. Fresh slacks and shirt, definitely; a fresh undershirt wouldn't go amiss either. Not brand-new though; it'll work better if they're worn, so charity shop items. Loose fit if possible. And we'll certainly need to neaten up your hair. No need to worry about the boots though; the ones you have are fine."

Rob pauses a moment to work out if he's covered all the bases; not quite.

"You'll need a coat or jacket too, with inner pockets to hold that crystal and whatever else you want to keep with you. And I think you should even out that haircut; it's currently rather distinctive. If we do all that and get it right, then no-one will look at you twice."

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

She nods a bit at the first part, but when it comes to her haircut, she scowls again. "My face is rather distinctive too," she says, brushing  her hair out of the way of her scar. "Can't do shit about that."

Hammer Sister

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

T narrows her eyes, but finally, after a long moment, nods. "Fine. Whatever. But don't make me look like a tart."

Hammer Sister

"I don't intend to; in fact, the plainer the better."

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

T still looks a bit suspicious. "Well... Good, then."

Hammer Sister

"Glad we're on the same page," Rob smiles assuringly. "Oh, one more thing: I don't think you've told me your name."

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

"I don't give it out," she says, gruffly. "You can call me T."

Hammer Sister

"Fair enough; not sure how well it'll work though. I'm thinking it might work in our favour if we agreed on an assumed name for yourself; how does 'Zoe' sound? It's a pretty common name; will help with the disguise."

And then the murders began.
