T lets out a shriek, leaping back, hanging onto her knife. "The fuck?!"

~What the fuck is going on!~ The boy looks at her, also shocked. "Y...you CAN see me! Oh! Do you know the way out of here? I've been here soo long, mum. I should have gone home..." He moved, and she could see that the blue light from the crystal seemed to illuminate him slightly. He seemed more 'real' on the side facing where she'd come from and slowly fades from view on the opposite side. ~Damnit, if you don't keep me with you, I can't DO anything!~

"You useless piece of shit crystal, that's a fucking ghost you had me stab!" she snaps, eyeing the boy warily. "You can see ghosts? Are there more of them? Why does your light make them show up?" she asks, rapid-fire, as she backs toward the crystal, hoping to lure the ghost closer.

~Ghosts don't ex...~ As the ghost got closer, it seemed to plead more. "Please, mum...I have to go home...how do I go home!" ~Well...shit, maybe that's why they look different. I thought it was just different people. I...don't know why it makes them show up, but there's....um..a few more. That was just the closest.~ Did the voice seem...nervous? So far it'd either been annoyed, angry, or just sort of neutral.

"Fine, kid, so go home then. Door's that way." Somehow she doubts that'll work, but it's worth a shot. Maybe he just needs permission?

"But the door doesn't work, mum...can you tell me how to get home?" The voice was even more pleading. ~Um...so, what's the deal with this place? any reason why there's a bunch of ghosts here?~

"I have no fucking idea, it's just some old warehouse." She takes a deep breath. "Um... have you tried... thinking real hard about your mother and wanting to be with her? Like... picture being with your mother."

"...my mom?" The boy looked a little pained. "She sold me to eat, mum...said she'd pick me up when we had enough money..." ~Because he's not the only one here....and there's something else. Still trying to figure out what the hell I'm seeing.~ The boy shivered and moved a bit closer. "Did the lineman come back? he said I'd get no sleep till I was done. Said he'd beat me raw if I didn't." It's like the boy doesn't really know what's going on. He can answer well enough, but it's hard to keep him on point...and as far as she knew, that wasn't something that really happened...well not anymore, though it was a couple decades ago since that sort of thing was common.

"...shit." she says, gritting her teeth. That was... a pretty fucking raw deal, yeah. On the bright side, it wasn't a thing anymore, so she'd never had to face that particular fate, rough as her life was. Still... how do you get a ghost to move on?

"This other thing... is it bigger? scarier?" she asks, a suspicion dawning on her.

~Well how the...oh...um...~ There's an image in her mind. One with what should be her, as it matches the one when he was trying to show him what he sees. The next is the ghost...and the third looks like it had several of the bright lights in it, but nothing else. The light wasn't very intense, but it seemed...malicious. like something was carrying the things and they were moving and squirming to try and escape. ~That...seems sinister, yeah. So what the hell is THAT thing?~

"Forget what. Show me where. In relation to me, please."

~Shit...hold on.~ There's another image, and it shows her and the ghost..two others like it, and the nasty looking thing. The two others were ...underneath them with the bigger one seeming to be even deeper than that. ~Um...that thing's moving closer....so that might be a problem~ "Please, mum...I don't wanna be here anymore! I miss my mom and gran!"

"Shut up," she hisses to the ghost. "Is there a floor down there?" she asks, moving to one side. "Stairs?"

"Um...just...a storage room, mum. They keep the spare machine parts in it. Stairs are..." He points past what looked like some rubbish bins stacked up in front of a door.

T grabs the crystal, jogging toward the stairs. "Can you keep feeding me images of where the various ghosts are?"
