"If I may, I'd like to return to why we're here," Rob interrupts, keeping his tone as neutral as possible. "I'm sure Dr Harrisberg would prefer not to be sidetracked from the business at hand."

"It is not as off-topic as you would believe." Dr. Harrisburg huffed a bit before looking back to Rob. "That topic was part of what they were arguing about. Went out a long time right in the front by the Keystone about what Welcomes people."

Erika nods. "What did each side say?"

[CalamityJade]

"Mordriana believed that the spirit of New Avalon knew who and what it needed and would act accordingly. Obsidian believed that was bullocks and if something WAS doing so, it wouldn't act so slowly, or have people almost die in the streets before 'Welcoming' them.

"...and the latter vanished. That seems to be settled, then, doesn't it?"

[CalamityJade]

"Well, as long as it was the spirit of the city and not people who think they know better."

Erika nods. "Fair. Still though, it seems ominous."

[CalamityJade]

"Quite." Dr. Harrisburg shook his head. "The two of them seemed at odds, but they both seemed to agree on the current way of things being less than desirable. In fact, the reason for my association with Obsidian was him wanting to know more about the city's history, mostly around the time that people started to become 'Welcomed'."

[Hammer Sister]

"Do you think it's possible they may have chosen to take matters into their own hands, as it were?"

"If they tried to go against the City, that would explain his disappearance.."

[CalamityJade]

"I...suppose it is possible, but if Mordrianna was being kidnapped and Obsidian is still missing, that would mean a third party would have to..." He looked again at the drawing. "Miss Stark...you work for Gregory Roidmet...and he had you accompany this detective to the ballet?" He seemed to be leaning more towards confirmation than an actual question

She nods, suddenly timid.

Something's bothering Erika... I'll ask her later.

"Mr Roidmet asked Miss Stark to accompany me to help make our first meeting go smoothly," Rob explains.

Dr. Harrisburg made a bit of an annoyed face before he grumbled something about 'nosey brats'. "He sent you here because his brother was helping with my research. He wanted to find out more about the city, and there are some rather unscrupulous types that would try to steal the research to present as their own. Mordrianna had a similar interest, but only in the location the Keystone is supposed to be."
