Go Down

CalamityJade

"Killing the City would be quite impossible. You would have to force everyone to leave and never return, killing almost all of the Welcomed in the process. Or at least making their lives empty." She gave a small sigh. "However, if what you want is to no longer require people to 'never leave' that is something your father was trying to do. From what I remember, he had made some progress with it as well before his disappearance."

~Wait, so how the hell do I fit in with all this shit?~ The crystal floated near Mordrianna's head. ~How the hell did I even get IN this thing!~ "Well, more likely than not, your essence sought refuge along with some of your memories. I'd recently found you in my last altercation with the Architect's Legion. Of course, most old Pulse Stones have the ability to communicate with those that can hear them."

yamikuronue

T narrows her eyes. "Where is my father?"

CalamityJade

She closes her eyes and starts to slow her breathing...after a few moments she starts to speak. "You will meet him again...at the center of all. Others will help you reach him, and you will help move New Avalon to a new stage." Her voice held a sort of echo to it before she shook herself. "That is what I see. Unfortunately you share your father's trait to be almost unreadable."

yamikuronue

"...the hell?" she demands. "That's not an answer, dammit! I'm not going to fall for your psychic act."

CalamityJade

At that, Mordrianna laughts. "It is very much not an act, young one. Why else do you believe I would be attacked like that."

yamikuronue

"Because there are gullible fools everywhere. If you could see the future, you wouldn't have been surprised to be out for a week."

CalamityJade

"People's choices are not set in stone. There is always a chance that I may be wrong...but there is very little chance for that not happening." She shakes her head. "There are also those who's paths are hard to read."

yamikuronue

"In other words, you're a good guesser. Which means you know something you're not telling me about where my dad is."

CalamityJade

"If I could guess correctly for almost all but three situations, then yes." Mordrianna sighed. "And if I could tell you exactly where your father was, I would."

yamikuronue

T rolls her eyes. "Look, I'm not stupid, I get how this is done. You said he's in the center, so if I find him in the middle of the city, you win. If I find him out in the outskirts, you'll say he was in the center of the problem, metaphorically, rather than the center of the city, and thus you win. You said others will help. If I go find him all alone,  you'll say, you helped, the crystal helped, random passersby helped by being in the right place. If I go get help -- fat chance, by the way -- then you'll say they were the ones that helped me. As for moving to a new stage, that could be just about anything. Odds are, when I find him, he'll go change a bunch of things, so you'll count that. Or if he's... then the newspaper will report it and people will be shocked and you'll say that's a new stage. So cut the crap, already."

CalamityJade

Mordrianna couldn't help but laugh. "You are definitely that man's child." She gave a sigh. "If I could be more precise I would. And I imagine answering questions about your past would not help in matters. If I were to guess, then I'd say it would be the true Center of the City, which is a place I've only heard about. I went to find it, but any of the Ruins or excavated areas seem to dead end or lead away from the city."

~I don't see why seeing the future is any weirder than everything else that's happened.~

yamikuronue

If it was possible, people would be exploiting it already.

"Can't you just find the center on a map?"

CalamityJade

"That was the first thing I tried. Unfortunately, nothing was there. I believed that the Keystone would be important enough to be the Center of the City, but it's location is also not known. And before you start complaining, it's possibly the place were the City itself dwells, and I'm fairly certain that it would have to be able to hide itself rather well."

~How do you know that she's exploiting it. I mean, why not pay for bodyguards.~

yamikuronue

"If I found the City itself, can't I stab it the same way I stabbed those monsters that were holding ghosts captive?"

Shush. I'll explain later.

CalamityJade

"You were separating the Pulse energy from their spirits, so no, not really. That's why solving the problem would be easier than killing the City. To do THAT, you just have to find out what's wrong with the Pulse in the first place."
