T smirks. "Is it, now. Interesting."

She takes a sip, then sighs. "Still, none of this helps me find the man I'm looking for."

[Hammer Sister]

"I take it you mean Lady Mordriana is now awake? If so, that's good; I'd quite like to talk to her myself."

[yamikuronue]

Shit. This isn't working. thinks T to herself.

"She's guarded, you might have trouble getting in," she says, casually.

[Hammer Sister]

"I'll think of a way."

After all, she is a key witness in my investigation.

"This man you're looking for; his name wouldn't happen to be Obsidian, would it? Wouldn't mind finding him myself, as it happens."

T feels her stomach unclench. Somehow, this had come about right... "Yeah? All I've got is a cryptic message to go on, but I'm pretty sure it was leading here."

[Hammer Sister]

"What was the message?"

[yamikuronue]

She winces. "It's really crap. Apparently I'll find him at the center of all, and some others are supposed to help me."

[Hammer Sister]

I see what's happened here.

"Let me guess: she said to specifically look for the 'Center of the City'. Not knowing where exactly that is, naturally you asked for directions; those directions led you here. From a literal point of view, that is correct; however, I suspect Mordriana used the phrase metaphorically, intending to mean where the heart of the city lies. Of course, that then raises the question of what the heart is exactly; a logical conclusion is the Keystone, given it's supposed to be the foundation of New Avalon. So if that reasoning holds, you're really looking for where the Keystone is. As for finding others who are supposed help you, I don't know if you'd- ah. It appears the fatespinner was talking about me."

Maybe she was being literal after all...

T makes a face. "She already ruled out finding the center on a map, saying it was more metaphorical than that. And she can't find the Keystone, apparently, and neither could m-- Obsidian, unless he did find it and that's why he vanished. Meanwhile, all this ghost shit is going on and I'm supposed to do something about that, and honestly, I'm thinking I'm going to have to dismantle the city if I want any real answers."

"'Ghost shit'?"

Her face turns into a downright scowl. "You wouldn't believe what I've been through the past few days."

[Hammer Sister]

"Given some of the things I've seen recently, you may be surprised at what I'm able to believe."

[yamikuronue]

"Apparently it's now my job to help ghosts pass on so their Pulse can be recycled properly." She says, with a straight face and a flat tone.

[Hammer Sister]

Pulse is the ghosts of people? I've seen and heard some crazy things, but this is a whole new level.

"Don't want to sound harsh, but that's just plain nonsense. If that's something Mordriana told you, then I'm not sure anything she said can be trusted; after all, there's no such thing as ghosts."

"Tell that to the two I spoke with," she says, darkly.
