Sam had arrived at the meeting spot in rather more cheer than T or Erika exhibited. He'd even brought an offering to perk their mood, lemon scones and hot tea enough for everyone. He'd offered to share but the reception had been a bit lukewarm.

"You know.... I'd swear this place is bigger on the inside." He comments looking at the unassuming building that seems to be shrugging itself smaller.

It seems like the hospital isn't the biggest hotbed of activity, which should make finding Mordriana's hospital room rather easy. What WAS different was that there was only one officer outside of her room. T could clearly remember there had been two the last time they were here.

"...where's the other guard," she asks, quietly.

Sam shrugs before walking off to talk to the guard, positioning himself so that hopefully the guard will turn to look at him and maybe let T and Erika sneak past.

"Excuse me officer, Could you help me? I've gotten turned around something fierce and am not sure how to get to my uncle in room twelve seventy two. Could you direct me?"

The officer gave Sam something of a surprised look before he spoke. "Wha...ah! Yer on the wrong floor. Go to the end of the hall there, and through those doors ta head up."

T slips through, with an eyeroll. ~Great -- the one guy who actually needs to talk to Mordriana is running the distraction gambit~

Erika follows, not sure what to expect. She'd come along because she'd been invited but... what was her role in all this? Just a guinea pig?

"I just came down from there!" Sam complains before  looking around theatrically "Uhh..... did you see what happened to my sister and aunt? they were here just a moment ago."

[CalamityJade]

"Look, yer the first couple of people comin in here in the last hour, so you'll probably have to ask the nurses downstairs." Well..that was a little dismissive.

[accalia]

"I see. Let's see.... the nurses station is this way, yes?" Sam says, walking back the way he had come.

..... DAMNIT! he was the one that was supposed to talk to Mordriana, not the girls! Why did he do the distraction?! stupid!

how the flip is he going to fix this now?

The room was...possibly vacant. The bed had been made and there were few effects in the room. Some flowers in a vase, what appeared to be a deck of cards, and a beaded bracelet were all that was on the bedside table.

The guard gave a nod. "Yea, that's the way." Didn't seem like the guard noticed anything yet.

Erika frowns. "Oh dear -- do you think she stepped out?"

T scowls, moving to examine the deck of cards.

[accalia]

"Excellent." Sam says to the guard "I'm off to the nurses station then. Good day officer!" and with that Sam starts walking in the wrong direction along the hall.

pleeeeeeeeease be paying attention mr officer......

T notice that the top card was flipped face up revealing a print of a stain glass window of what appeared to be a city and a winding, yellow path going from the bottom of the card up to the edge of it. A stylized script over the city said 'Sanctuary'. Interesting that she left the cards, right. Erika also noticed that one of the edges of the card had a faint tint to it.

The guard frowned. "Whadda ya doin?! I said that way!" He pointed down the opposite end of the hallway.

"Sanctuary..." she says slowly, before slipping the card into her pocket.

Erika nods. "That looks important," she offers.

"No shit," replies T.

[accalia]

"Right, you are then." Sam  says, reversing direction and passing the guard again. This time he gets distracted by a piece of art on the wall, enough to pause and look at it for a moment. "I will have to inquire as to the artist of this piece. I think i would like a print." And with that he sets off, once again going in the wrong direction

Hopefully the ladies manage to slip out soon, he can't keep the guard distracted for much longer before he either loses interest or gets suspicious.....
