Tale as Old As Time [Finished]

"I have GOT to get a tape recorder. No, a video camera! Wait, hang on, maybe my phone can do that?" Vi starts digging in her pocket.

Siegfried adds, kindly, "Your other half has started responding, apparently without your knowledge."

[CalamityJade]

Morden frowned. That was NOT a lot of time to figure out how to end this cycle. "There seems to be a solution that we can find...but we need to find that solution before the end of the next two weeks."

[accalia]

Echo merely blinks, looking confused and slightly alarmed.

Vi's reaction to him seems to be scaring him a bit.

Vi pulls out her phone, fiddling with it for a moment.

"Okay, so. How do we break the cycle?"

[accalia]

Once again Echo's voice changes and his etherial presence returns, although the presence feels somewhat more ragged, less defined, tired.

"Fix the wrong, heal the break, close the cracks in reality..... save the shattered soul, knit it back together..... end..... end our pain.... please."

Echo then blinks, color draining from his face slightly. He yawns loudly.

"Apologies, This one seems to have slept poorly to be this tired so early in the afternoon."

Vi grins, turning the phone around to reveal Echo's face. She hits play...

and the video shoes Echo staring at them a bit blankly for a moment before yawning.

"....Huh. Well that was anticlimactic." Vi says, slowly. "You two heard it, though, right?"

"That's absolutely facinating!" Morden looked at the video. "I heard it, as I have several times, but I was under the impression that recording it would work fine. But this actually removes the entire event from the recording. The sphere of influence would have to be..." He took a breath. "I apologize. Yes I heard it."

[accalia]

Echo listen solemnly to Morden's excited chatter for a moment.

"This one wonders, would this event you refer to be affecting the flow of time on a local scale, or just the perception of time?"

Echo still seems unsure as to what exactly Morden and Vi are talking about but he's also clearly trying to be helpful in his own manner.

Vi makes a face. "Something tells me it's got to be the latter. There's no way this thing is breaking reali--- actually, scratch that, I just listened to myself, of course it's breaking reality just to have a pleasant chat, that's how these things work. It's never easy."

[CalamityJade]

"I....actually don't know. It would seem possible to be either of them, though I would agree that the latter seems more reasonable. There was no visible effect that I could see and I imagine it would be difficult to discretely alter the flow of time."

[accalia]

"If it's important, would there be a way to test which is occurring?" Echo asks.

Echo winces visibly as his scars change configuration again, the large slash that starts on his temple and disappears under his shirt fading significantly while a different scar, one that looks like a chemical burn, emerges. Careful observation would show that this new scar was always present, but now seems as if it was made last month instead of years and years ago.

"Hang on, do your scars always do that?" she asks, frowning.

[accalia]

"This one appologises, Do they always do what?" Echo asks, looking confused

[CalamityJade]

"She is talking about the dendency your scars have to beome more or less pronounced at times. I imagined it was something to do with recalling the memory of any particular scar, but I will admit to not being entirely sure of that."

Vi reaches out and traces the scar that stands out now. "This one, it used to be faded."
