Go Down

Siegfried shakes his head. "He can't bring himself to blame his father, so he blames me. He refuses to admit ten years have passed, refuses to see me as... kin to him."

CalamityJade

Morden gave a slight nod. "That...I imagine would have to be true."

Obsidian seemed a little more interested in this train of conversation. "So...then I imagine you must travel in similar circles as Echo, then."

Julie turns to face Obsidian's question

Julie: I'm not actually sure to be honest. While most of our clients have met the man, none have been willing, or perhaps able, to talk much about him. I met him when i was a girl and in a lot of trouble. He showed up out of nowhere, helped me and then disappeared again.  I hadn't heard from him since then actually... until today.

A pause as Julie searches her memory, a puzzled look crosses her face.

Julie: That seems to be a common pattern actually from everyone that i know of that's met Echo, or whatever name he was calling himself at the time. He'll show up when they need someone with his talents, help them out, and then disappear again.

"It's a hard thing to accept that one's parents are not infalible, that they make mistakes and misjudgements... The master is doing very well this one thinks, in recognizing that and adjusting to it... Of course he has had little more than two or three days to think on the matter since you and this one shook him loose from the past."

yamikuronue

Siegfried sighs. "Yes.. but he made it clear he doesn't value my input. I suspect once he's really back on his feet, it'll be time to make a quiet exit." He pokes at his food. "I don't suppose you have any need for a butler?" he jokes.

CalamityJade

Obsidian frowned. "That is...rather odd." So...how the hell did a guy that didn't look too old manage to make an acquaintance of someone as a child. "And you never really wondered about him?"

accalia

"this one will help as one is able of course, but this week is the first time in over one hundred weeks that this one has had a roof over one's head. This one may be comfortable and somewhat happy with that sort of life, but one suspects that you would not. Wait it out and see what happens before you decide to leave, please."

A wry laugh from Julie.

Julie: Have you any idea how hard it is to find someone who does not want to be found? particularly when all you have is a pseudonym and a vague description? Of course i wondered about him, and of course i searched. I never found anything but dead ends and other people who had met him. Eventually i found Ms. Schreien and Mr. Hören through my searching, and we eventually formed our business firm after spending quite a lot of time, and money, trying to find this Echo, or Dröhnen, or Jehonë, or any of a dozen other names he gave for himself.

yamikuronue

Lance frowns. "Should we go chase him down then?" he asks, tilting his head.

Siegfried sighs. "Of course. You're right."

CalamityJade

"I doubt he has left yet." At least Obsidian hoped. There were still a few things he was curious about. Morden seemed to equally interested, having ceased his eating to listen to the conversation.

accalia

Julie: He's still here. He won't leave until his particular talent isn't needed. That much is certain.

"Thank you, that is important, or this one would not have asked'

yamikuronue

Lance shrugs. "Seems to me if you're so curious, we could go find him and you could ask him."

Siegfried sighs. "On the bright side, he's eating with his guests and his uncle. So he's on the mend, I hope."

CalamityJade

"Well...I wouldn't mind doing so. I'm sure the two of you have things in common you could discuss while I find our other house guest. Besides, it's a bit rude for the host to leave dinner before everyone else." Obsidian, having finished his food, moves to gather his silverware on his plate before heading for the kitchens. Might just be a habit from his...previous living arrangements, but he seems a lot more wary as he was leaving from eating than the majority of the day.

accalia

Julie: I thank you but no, I suspect that he does not wish to see me right now, and so I am going to enjoy stalking him for a while and cornering him myself. I can see that he's not done here and unless you want to find a different investment firm i will be spending a lot of time here working out exactly the details of our agreements. The hunt will be most enjoyable...

"Yes, this one thinks he is on the mend at last, but far from being out of the woods. incidentally, it has been some time since this one has had chance to look at a callendar.... do you know when the next full moon is?"

yamikuronue

Lance's eyes light up for a moment, but he takes another bite of chicken rather than comment.

Siegfried blinks. "Ah, next week perhaps? I'm not certain."

CalamityJade

Obsidian shrugged as he headed for the kitchen. "Suite yourself." He, on the other hand, was never a very patient person. Especially when the easiest way to find something out was to ask. Morden, however, had caught the phrasing...and looked between Lance and Julie.

Morden then cleared his throat. "And seeing how I'll be going through several years worth of financial logs, I doubt this will be the last evening I will be present for. Thankfully, this seems to be a slow time for most of my consulting."

accalia

"hmm... well that will be interesting. One had hoped it would be longer."

Julie sighs at the mention of the work ahead of her.

Julie: yes there will be a lot of data to go through.... I do wish Ms. Schreien traveled well, because i do not relish the idea of going through that many tomes of transactions.....
