Go Down

One particularly nasty swipe sends Lance sprawling; it's a wolf that rises, red-brown, lean, ears flat back against his head. The playful air is gone now; the wolf lunges with teeth, more straightforward but clearly holding back less than Lance, as he stays low, moving side to side waiting for an opening, and lunges at maximum speed, without warning or signals.

Julie: Hmm.... I can't say I've heard of that sort of thing before.... Why royalty I wonder.... Still there are as many different ways to live beyond the veil as there are people who do so.

Julie perks up at some barely heard noise.

Julie: on dear..... he really is young isn't he? lost his temper he did. I should go and make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble. Would you excuse me? I do hate to leave you alone, but this shouldn't be left unattended.

CalamityJade

Obsidian was quick to decide at that point. On one of the lunges, he tries to wrap his arm around Lance's Jaws and squeeze down, trying to keep them closed. So far the 'spells' had worked and he wasn't too damaged. Chip here and a scrape there, but he was still able to fight. Now he just had to hope it lasted.

Morden shrugged a little. "Can't say how young he is, just that he seemed rather rash. And you might as well check on him. I believe you might be a tad bit more experienced in dealing with this sort of problem than myself."

yamikuronue

Lance kicks and struggles, but with his jaw clamped closed and his neck in a headlock, it's not long before he relents, laying limp in Obsidian's lap, tail tucking between his legs.

Julie: Thank you. I expect Siegfried or Echo should be along shortly once I've left.

Julie leaves the room quickly and within moments is outside, arriving at the site of the fight just in time to see Lance submit to Obsidian. She steps inside the arena, carefully staying out of Lance's field of vision, but making no effort to hide from Obsidian.

Julie says nothing, just watches and waits for One of the two fighters to make the next move

Mere moments after Julie leaves there is a small knock at the door to the dining room, quickly followed by Echo entering the room.

"This one regrets that we have no guest rooms suitable for guests at the moment, however we have managed to clear a couple of rooms in the servants wing. If it would not offend for a guest such as you to spend time in the servants wing, we will endeavor to prepare the guest rooms with all possible speed"

CalamityJade

Obsidian was...admittedly a little perplexed. He hadn't bet on Lance seeming to STOP fighting once he was like this. Maybe some of his sorces had been exaggerating? He was very hesitant, especially once he'd seen Julie arrive at the scene. "Alright, wise guy...now what do you do?" He muttered mostly to himself. "Lance....if you can hear me, blink once." Might as well see HOW much control the kid had.

Morden gave a slight nod. "I'm sure that any room you give will be suitable for my needs...and probably that of Julie..." He tilted his head to the side as he looked at Echo. "Um...I hope this isn't too forward, but you would be Echo, correct?"

yamikuronue

Lance whimpers, struggling a little until he's laying half on his side and half on his back, flashing pale belly fur up at Obsidian.

accalia

"That would be the face name of this one. Do you have a query for this one or shall one show you to the rooms that were prepared?"

Julie smiles softly at Lance's actions.

Julie: Still a pup, unable to speak in this form as yet?

CalamityJade

Obsidian gave a bit of a sigh. Alright, what was his instincts telling him. One, that Lance probably wasn't going to fight. Two, that Julie wasn't nearly in as much danger as he thought. Three...that he might as well confirm one and two now, since he was sure if he needed to, he could keep Lance from attacking Julie. "Right...I'm gonna ease up now." He loosened his grip on Lance's head , hoping that he'd be accommodating rather than angry.

Morden smiled a little. "Only one for now, if you don't mind...Did you have a way of knowing what everyone was before we arrived today?"

yamikuronue

Lance rolls to his back once released, properly submitting, then just as rapidly rolls to his feet, placing himself between Julie and Alpha. The message would be clear to anyone who speaks wolf body language: if she wants a go at the dominance order, she'll have to go through him first.

accalia

"This one knew what everyone was? no that is not a power this one has. One knew about the master having been told earlier, likewise this one recommended Ms. Scallen because this one knew her experience would help the master. This one does have some small powers in receptive empathy as well as one larger power this one will leave unspoken if one might."

Julie growls softly, but deprecatingly.

Julie: Peace young one. I'll not challenge your Alpha tonight, nor would i willingly if he can take down one as young and strong as you.

CalamityJade

Morden nodded. "Of course. I've long since learned that prying secrets that are stubborn is sometimes a good way of causing issues. It doesn't seem you mean any harm and, while my own curiosity is...a factor, I would not mind speaking with you again at a more opportune time."

Obsidian takes a couple of deep breaths before standing back up. Julie would probably notice that his skin had taken on an almost pitch black color. "Rather nice to say.." Well, that was ONE mystery solved, at least. "Why am I not surprised that Echo's choice of help is more than she appears. Seems to be a theme." He didn't sound angry or accusative, just speculative.

accalia

Julie: That man is quite the meddler isn't he? Yes, I am more than human, or did the scars not hint at that?

Julie pauses to gesture at the four parallel scars on her face.

Julie: Still, do not think that i would be as easy to put down as the master here... i've had eighty years to learn to fight dirty, in both forms.

Smiling Julie waits for a reaction to her words, staying about twenty feet back from Obsidian and maintaining a casual stance that is neither aggressive nor defensive.

"of course, this one will answer most questions. If you are ready this one is prepared to show you to the rooms prepared for you and Ms. Schallen"

yamikuronue

The wolf paces, ears back, restlessly, still between Obsidian and Julie.

CalamityJade

Obsidian shrugged. "A lot of things have claws, and I try not to limit my options till I'm sure." He gave a chuckle. "I don't doubt it, and personally I'd rather not test it right now if I didn't have to." Besides, lets not see how much harder she could hit. "Lance, stand down...don't think we'll be having any more fights tonight."

Morden nodded, standing from the table. "That would be great, actually. It's been a long day."
