Siegfried shudders. "Vampires are real as well, then?"

accalia

Julie: well three of them anyway. I think they're the last of them actually.

CalamityJade

"Only three...huh, guess the conditions were exaggerated." Obsidian sighed. "I don't imagine there's much dangerous outside of them getting peckish, yes?"

Morden actually blinked. "Oh! Really now? I've never actually gotten anything I'd consider credible as far as information about vampires."

accalia

Julie: Well being allergic to human blood is probably the only reason that they are still alive to be honest. and they always have been intensely private.

yamikuronue

Siegfried finally finishes making a stack of pancakes and begins placing plates in front of guests.

CalamityJade

Obsidian scoffs. "Wait...allergic to human blood? Now I know you're kidding."

accalia

Julie: My thanks Siegfried.

Julie does not rise to Obsidian's bait, instead choosing to eat heartily while the sound of a distant guitar playing in a minor key drifts over the room

yamikuronue

Siegfried gets sausages and fruit and juice for those that came late to this little brunch party, letting conversation lapse.

CalamityJade

Obsidian raised an eyebrow at the music, but that seemed like more of a later thing...like after pancakes.

Morden, however, was much more curious. "Hmm...he's actually quite good."

accalia

Julie: i did say he was good. You should hear him when he gets at a piano. Pass the sausages please.

And with that Julie dives back into breakfast, while the mournful minor melody washes over the group. After a moment Julie comes back up for air and a comment.

Julie: though i do wish he didn't have a penchant for minor keys. makes it sound too mournful for my tastes.

yamikuronue

Siegfried takes a bowl of fruit and slips out, looking for the source of the music.

accalia

It doesn't take Siegfried long to follow the music to the Rose garden where Echo can be seen sitting in the center of the garden. Echo is facing due north and with his head bowed and his eyes closed could almost be mistaken for being asleep if it weren't for his hands moving purposefully over the guitar making beautiful, emotion laden music

CalamityJade

Morden shrugged as he passed the sausages. "Well, one would think he picked those for a reason...though he seems well adapted to avoiding talking too much about himself."

yamikuronue

Siegfried comes to kneel beside him, placing the bowl next to him before closing his eyes, enjoying the mild morning and the sound of music.

It had been so long since he'd heard live music so well-played... and truth be told, while he didn't get far in his piano studies, it wasn't for lack of interest. What a cruel twist fate has played on me, he thinks to himself, with a small smile. My elder brother has no concern for money or anything it can buy, while I, the servant, have gourmet tastes. He'd studied the far more practical cooking instead of the indulgent music, and even then, he'd never had the chance to take lessons in cakes or other exotic techniques, but he could make plain fare a little less so, which was a skill to itself. Or so I tell myself, he thinks, fondly.

accalia

"you want to learn how to play? This one thinks you do, and would be willing to teach, for a price... a favor for a favor one might say"

Echo's voice is distant, but clear and in the moment.

Julie: well yes i assume that he does have a reason for choosing minor keys, and you are right i never got much out of him about his past, about the best i managed was a whispered name of "Sylphia" when he was really depressed, happened almost exactly three days after every full moon. although he never was what you would call..... "happy"
