Go Down

yamikuronue

"What favor?" asks Siegfried, quietly.

CalamityJade

Morden nodded. "I do not know him hardly...but that is the impression I got."

accalia

Julie: Perceptive as you are and so little, well then i shall not feel so bad for knowing so little about him myself. Still he is distinctive enough, you would think he would show up in some of the history books.

"This one knows Music, but little in the way of cooking. You know much about cooking and little of music. This one proposes a trade. Knowledge for knowledge, skill for skill."

yamikuronue

Siegfried relaxes, a smile creeping across his face. "Well, that's no hardship. Done."

CalamityJade

Morden couldn't help but smile. "He seems quite careful about what information he gives out. I imagine he would avoid giving much in the way of personal information." Morden chews on some sausage as he ponders. "He could just be one that tries to avoid the spotlight of history, preferring to keep himself out of it.  Did you have that sort of impression?"

accalia

Julie: true, but given that, aside from the new scars, he looks to me to be exactly the same as he was when i first met him. there is something going on there. we can't have been the only ones to notice.

"Done then. When would you like to start?"

yamikuronue

"Oh, there's no rush," says Siegfried, sitting back against his heels. "I wanted to talk to you about something else, anyway."

CalamityJade

"That's true enough...he seems to stand out a good deal that not many would forget him...and I've yet to really ask him anything I've been curious about. He seems to be places that he is 'needed' but it seems odd that would be the only reason." Morden finished off the sausages and was starting on the pancakes

accalia

Julie: That is curious, he only ever shows up when he is needed, that much is common among everyone i know that has met him. He comes when needed, but when not needed.... He can't be found. I too would be interested in finding out how he does that.

"hmm? what did you wish to talk about with this one?"

Echo finally opens his eyes and stops playing. He scoots around on the ground to face Siegfried but does not yet rise

yamikuronue

Siegfried keeps his eyes on Echo, despite the flutter in his stomach. "Magic." He takes a deep breath, trying to figure out how best to proceed. "You seem to know something of... what did she call it... the world beyond the veil?"

CalamityJade

Morden scratched his chin. "Well, there is a good chance that he isn't really a person...some sort of construct, though I don't put much stock in that explanation. There is also the chance that he has something about him that causes him to seek out these situations. There is something...odd around him that I haven't gotten the chance to get a good look at."

accalia

Julie: he's too good to be a construct, but there is more than meets the eye there. Let me know if you figure it out.  hmm.... are there any apple slices left in that bowl?

"Magic, The world beyond the veil. Yes this one know of it, many stories there, much knowledge, but once you look beyond that veil there is no going back, and an untutored beyond the veil is but a target.  Did you have something in mind to ask about?"

yamikuronue

"Two things, actually." He closes his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath.

"The first is myself. I want to know if you've heard of any with abilities like mine -- the ability to brush against the mind of another and take a peek at the secrets within. I want to know if there's any others out there who could guide me, any rules or protocol to keep in mind, any exercises to strengthen or minimize this talent. I want to know basically whatever you can teach me."

"The second... I continue to have concerns about yourself. I want to know if I can help you come to some understanding about what happened to you the other night."

CalamityJade

Morden gave a nod. "And help yourself. Not really a fruit person." He was also somewhat picking at his pancakes. "Though, curiosities aside, we should make some effort into the reason the two of us were brought here."

Obsidian finally chimes in. "Right, finances and the like. Though, be honest, how bad is it?"

Morden scratched his chin. "From the books that I've already seen, it will be difficult to actually make more of a profit initially. A lot of the accounts seem tied to old agreements that are still in circulation, not to mention several that are set to automatically debit into other accounts. Since I imagine you're going to try and restore the house and grounds, it will take a significant amount of capital, as well as a steady income to pay for maitinance. Then there's the problem of the town thinking this place is cursed."

accalia

Julie: Indeed, There's some i can do with the investments but you really do need a rapid infusion of cash to really put things on the direction you and the Master want to go. Unless you have a hidden pot of gold in the backyard the easiest way to get that would be to sell some of your rental properties.

"be careful in reaching out to others minds, most will feel your touch, some will fight back... This one has not heard of another with the power to reach out into the minds of others for some time now so there may not bee a living person who could help you there... Hmm... This one will have to think on that"

"As for the other. this one does not lay judgement. One does not know what happened, but one trusts that Ms. Schallen had the matter well in hand. Was there anything in particular about last night that you were worried about?"
