Obsidian pounds on the door to Lance's room once he gets there. He was not letting the kid wriggle out that easily.

Lance yanks open the door. "Fuck, what?"

[CalamityJade]

"Hey, what the hell are you trying to do? Are you trying to fuck things up or are you just THAT allergic to dealing with anything that MIGHT make you uncomfortable." He leaves for a little bit to deal with some stuff and MAYBE get Lance to confront ANY of his issues, but he blows it off because it's just...what, easier?

"I'm trying to get a workout in without you breaking my damn door down, what's it look like?" he fires back, good mood evaporating.

"Well, you'd have more luck with that if you would stop shifting EVERYTHING to other people. Why the hell are you planning to give full power of attorney?"

"Siegfried wants this to happen, let him manage it. Problem solved."

[CalamityJade]

"Oh, and you don't have to think about being responsible for anything. Can't forget that part." Obsidian pinched the bridge of his nose. "Why is it you don't want anything to really do with all of this, anyway?"

Lance crosses his arms. "It doesn't affect me one way or another."

[CalamityJade]

"Of course it does! This is all the stuff is supposed to be yours and you're just passing the buck so you don't have to make any decisions about it?"

[yamikuronue]

"I don't want it! How many times do I have to say that?"

[CalamityJade]

Obsidian pinched the bridge of his nose. "Wha..why the hell....is it that you want to take responsibility...for everything BUT the stuff your parents were going to give you anyway?!"

Lance's face takes on a dark expression. "All those dreams died with my parents. I'll never be the person who would have inherited their fortune, only ever the one that murdered them."

[CalamityJade]

"Wait...so are you passing all this off because you don't think you're worthy of it, or so you can pity yourself more for what happened rather than trying to change that? Because that doesn't HAVE to be all that you are. You an be the one that helped regain what was lost. That...whatever it was that let your father do what he did and still want to help people."

[yamikuronue]

"I'm not him," he growls. "I'm.... whatever I am, it's not what he'd want me to be."

"Well, you probably could BE what he wanted you to be...or did you never think he talked about you?"
