Go Down

Julie turns and looks at Morden for the first time. Her expression and tone is inquisitive and amused, even as her words are rather accusative.

Julie: Level with me Morden, What you're trying to say is "Back off and let the kid deal with his problems in his own time", right? You do realize that his own pace has seen him go ten years and more without resolving this problem, a problem where once a month or more he becomes a dangerous creature capable of killing, or worse spreading lycanthropy, with no remorse.... until later at least. Is that a good thing?

CalamityJade

Obsidian sighed slowly. "I know...he just doesn't seem to get that he won't be dishonoring anyone by living in SOME part."

Siegfried takes a deep breath. "I knew his father even less than he did, so I can't comment, but.... he was a good man. A really, truly good man. The idea of letting him down, of making him disappointed.... It chafes at me, so I can only imagine how badly Lance must feel."

He seems unaware he's used Lance's name there.

CalamityJade

Obsidian wasn't about to correct Siegfried but gave a nod. "He was a good guy. Always tried hard to do well by people. Loved his family, tried to take care of his employees...." He sighed, shaking his head. "Lance wants to hear about him, but I think he's afraid to. He's worried that his father really was disappointed in him, with that was far from the truth. Hell, he wouldn't even have wanted him mourning him this long."

Morden chuckled a little. "Not in the least. I'm simply saying that pushing him constantly is the opposite extreme and equally dangerous. At the very least I would refrain from speaking as if your own life would have less meaning. At best, he'd see that as another death that was his fault. At worse, it's pity from someone he may believe looks down on him. Neither help him in moving forward."

"That said, it is not often that I meet someone quite as nonchalant about death. It must be something you deal with often."

yamikuronue

Siegfried closes his eyes briefly. "Would he... have wanted me to stay here? There's been talk of applying to college, or... otherwise trying to get a job, but I don't want to leave the Young Master unattended."

accalia

Julie laughs at Mordens last comment, a wry, dry laugh but one with an underpinning of joviality

Julie: nonchalant? hardly. I don't want to die, i want to keep living. but i also don't want to keep living if i'm to be infirm and dependent on others for my daily life. I am old as humans measure time, almost as much so as werewolves do. My years of being active and independent are coming to an end. I fear that, but I refuse to let the fear rule me. If that means I will be ended... well that is a thing that must happen. I will march to meet the goddess at the end of my days with my head held high, i will not cower in fear of the undiscovered country.

CalamityJade

"...Kid, he probably would have given you a choice of life. He was big about that, ya know? Trying to make sure that if you had something you really wanted to do, that you could get there...actually makes you wonder how the hell we ever got along, now that I think about it." He thinks a moment. "Well, what would you actually wanna do?"

"Still, most try to hold onto every scrap of time they have while other believe that waiting for the end IS a chore. And considering you have not had an easy life, it would be easy to assume that you would be of either of those mindsets." Morden couldn't help but smile. "That and you put up with my ramblings better than most, so it is nice to see that you do not seem weighed down by your life."

yamikuronue

Siegfried spreads his hands out, palms up. "I never really thought about it."

accalia

Julie: indeed, it has been a hard life. But i can think of those that have had harder. I have my own share of scars, although fortunately only the one has marked my face... but one like Echo.... what must one have suffered to collect his scars?

CalamityJade

"You might want to, then. I sure as hell can't give you an answer if you don't know what you want in the first place." Obsidian stood, stretching. "Well, why don't you think about it and maybe after this full moon, we'll figure out what's next."

"That...I don't know." Morden gave a frown. "It's also rather aggrivating, since I can't make much sense of what I see from him in the first place."

accalia

Julie: What is it that you do see then? He's an enigma to me and i dislike that. unfortunately he resists finding answers to questions about him.

yamikuronue

Siegfried gets up, starting to clear the table. "Alright."

CalamityJade

Morden shakes his head. "It's...well, there's a LOT of magic at work, but I can't make heads or tails of it. I'd be much more fascinating if it wasn't so aggravating. And he does seem rather adept at avoiding questions, so until it becomes important to start invading privacy, I will simply have to puzzle it out as is."

accalia

Julie: Hmm... A conclusion i came to a long time ago. What i found really weird is... well his smell i guess... it's hard to translate. He smells like three people, not one. except that's now quite it. more like two people and an.... idea of a person? like i said it's hard to translate from what the wolf sees.

CalamityJade

"Three..." Morden makes a sort of grimaced face. "That WOULD explain speaking in the third person, but I wouldn't even know HOW that would look."
