CalamityJade

"The past is...often painful. Past decisions, past mistakes...lots of things can make it more painful than it was. I was, however, unaware to the degree that you remember such pain...but even then, that cannot be the sum total of what you remember. there must be pleasant times as well as painful ones."

accalia

"This one does not remember such a time. This one is sure that there must have been such times but they are lost, secreted away, sealed beyond this one's reach. All this one remembers is searching and the calling of this one's purpose"

CalamityJade

"...wait, searching? What were you searching for?"

accalia

"This one suspects if this one knew that, then this one would no longer be searching."

CalamityJade

Morden gave a slight nod. "That is a good point...maybe it's not a something, but a someone. I'm sure that it's been mentioned that you seem to know someone....a Sylphia, perhaps?"

accalia

At the mention of the name Sylphia a blank look falls across Echo's face and he seems to fold inward slightly.

After several moments he removes the ticket from his shirt pocket and places it on the table. After another pause he picks it up again and comments

"This one wonders, what sort of place is this that one is to travel to?"

While Echo is blank Siegfried senses another presence in the room. It is overpowering and fierce. It is so overpowering that it takes Siegfried a moment to realize that not only is the presence not innately hostile but is also exactly the same presence that Siegfried encountered when he was with Echo in that tiny pocket of the Aether.

Siegfried, having drifted into the room while tidying dishes, almost drops the sugar bowl in surprise, though he tries to cover it with a coughing fit.

CalamityJade

Morden blinked a few times as he puzzled that over. "Echo...do you remember what I just said?"

accalia

Echo smiles brightly at Morden

'Of course! The last thing you said was "Well...didn't quite think we'd get treated this well. Don't think I've been to the beach in some time."'

Echo imitates Morden's previous tone, but misses significantly on the pitch rendering the words in his deep baritone rather than Morden's normal register

CalamityJade

Morden blinked a couple of times. "That...is most interesting." There was a pause as Morden seemed to mull something over in his head a couple of times. "Echo, do you remember me speaking to you about Julie?"

accalia

Echo frowns slightly, but responds quickly enough

"Not recently, This one believes the last time that subject came up was last evening. Was that what you refer to?"

CalamityJade

"...no, not in the least. We had actually just spoken about her. She has taken it upon herself to find a safe place for her to deal with the full moon." Morden tilted his head to one side as he looked at Echo. "And you don't remember this?"

accalia

Echo blinks a couple of times before replying, a note of confusion tinged with panic staining his otherwise calm and impassive tone.

"This one apologizes, but no this one has no memory of such a conversation, nor does this one believe that there is a gap in this one's recollection that could contain such a conversation."

yamikuronue

Siegfried chews his lower lip, but chooses to say nothing, letting Morden handle the situation.

CalamityJade

"Hmm....That IS interesting." Morden was sure he'd mentioned it, and that Echo had spaced out and then seemed to have replaced the conversation in his memory. "You blanked ounce I mentioned...someone's name, and then said I had been talking about going to the beach. Has anyone mentioned such a thing happening before now?"
