"I promise that I'll leave him alone if nothing seems wrong. You've going this long without my help, so I'm not gonna treat you like this is your first time...but I'm not going to stand by and do nothing if something's wrong." Obsidian gave him a bit of a smirk. "So I'll just check in every few hours and see if you've snuck out or something."

Lance shakes his head. "Look, it's... painful, shifting. So you might hear.... well."

"Yelling and screaming..." he sighed. "If I start hearing broken glass or windows, I'll come in, short of that, don't worry, alright?" Obsidian, of course, wasn't planning on just sitting around and doing nothing, but he wouldn't barge in without a plan. "Have you ever tried someone knocking you out before all that?"

He makes a face. "How? I'm not going to a doctor to get sedatives, not with my physiology so altered."

"Magic, mostly...I'm not going to just try sticking you with sedatives and hoping I don't kill you, and it HAS to be better than what you're describing." Obsidian didn't know a lot of magic, hense needing tattoos to do most of what he has, but that didn't mean he knew nothing.

Lance's scowl fades in favor of a hopeful expression. "You can do that?"

"Well, I know a couple of ways. I haven't tried them on you, but I don't see why they wouldn't work." Obsidian would need to re-read those runes and he'd have to do it the slow way, but it's possible.

Lance nods, slowly. "How soon can you try them? If I could be out for the next few days..."

"It'll take a couple of hours to set up, but I can definitely knock you out." Of course...he's not sure he can knock him out the WHOLE time. "Still, it'll be worth a shot and would get you past the painful part of all this, right?"

He nods. "get on that, then. I'll be in my room."

It took a couple of hours, but Obsidian had gathered the reagents and supplies to actually perform the spell. Thankfully, it wasn't a complicated spell to perform. He'd needed a few herbs and oils, most of which he had brought himself. The real problem was finding fresh sage. He'd barely remembered that there used to be an herb garden. Most of the plants had gone to weeds, but he'd managed getting enough herbs that he needed.

Items in hand, he made his way back to Lance's room.

By the time Obsidian makes his way into Lance's room, he's pacing, the anxious twitchiness starting to set in that always signals the beginning of the full moon. He can feel the urge to run, and forces himself down to a walk. He wants to be outside, so he makes himself stay put, and it's begun to feel like a cage. Half of him is dreading the moon for fear of the other half, and the other half is desperate to get out and enjoy himself.

Obsidian gave a bit of a nod as he came in. "Right. So sit down and I'll get started...best I can say that this'll put you out for a day or two. Don't want to do something I can't undo and it's been...quite a while since I had to do something like this."

Lance nods, moving to sit cross-legged on the rug. "Right. Okay. As long as it holds."

Obsidian moved about the room for a moment before putting down some candles around Lance. "Right...so, this should just knock you out." He goes about lighting the candles, which give the room a slight pine scent. "Just...try to relax. alright?" With that he sat cross-legged in front of Lance and closed his eyes. While he hated this kind of magic, it could be useful in certain situations.
