Tale as Old As Time [Finished]

Relax, huh? Easier said than done. Even as he tries to sit still, Lance's knee starts bouncing, working out the jittery tension in his gut. At least he manages to breathe deeply, nostrils wide.

After a few moments the smell from the candles seemed to fade as a haze seemed to start pushing at Lance's mind. he just needed to relax and sleep. Some rest would do him wonders, especially with everything that had been going on. He could feel some of the tension being pulled out of him as the haze around his mind started to thicken.

Lance lets out a yawn, feeling the weight of his burdens bogging him down. There was so much to do... and he was so tired... a small nap, maybe, would help... Slowly, he sinks to his side, laying his head on his arms.

And the spell would try to keep him in that frame of mind to make him sleep. Thankfully, it didn't take a lot of power to keep someone asleep as long as it was one person. Obsidian gave a bit of a sigh of relief when he felt the spell actually take hold. He'd have worried that Lance would be immune and he'd have to figure some other way of convincing him that his situation wasn't the best.

Lance slowly curls onto his side, sound asleep... as Obsidian begins to feel like he's being watched, like there's some other presence in the room, eyeing him carefully. Gently at first, Lance's skin gives way to fur, his bones almost melting into a new shape as he shifts.

Um...okay. Obsidian had figured THAT wouldn't happen, and the idea of being watched was less than good, so getting up seemed like the smart idea right now. Why the hell did he shift ANYWAY! HE was sure that werewolves shifted due to the moon, but nothing mentioned the feeling of being watched.

Wolf lets out a large yawn, his tail wagging twice -- just enough to get the sentiment across without seeming undignified -- as he gets to his feet, stretching his legs a bit.

As Lance stands up another wolf walks out from behind Obsidan. she stays well clear of both Obsidian and Lance. eventually she stops about six paces directly in front of Lance and lays down, presenting her side to Lance. A very neutral stance. She seems disinclined to talk or do anything more than wait.

Her tail however is wagging slitghtly in an "i told you so" kind of way.

W..wait, what?! The things not asleep at all?! "...right...that's...definitely NOT what I thought would happen." Still, he had to keep his guard up. Of course, he had to stop himself from attacking the moving thing behind him when it DID appear there. Right! That's probably what he felt. "This...is not the best space for this."

As soon as he catches a hint of Julie's scent, Wolf's entire body language alters abruptly. From relaxed and laid-back, he becomes instantly alert, his muscles tense, his lips pulling up into a snarl. As she presents her side to him, he lunges at her, teeth first, aiming to bowl her over and get his teeth on her throat if he can manage it.

Julie does not make a move to get out of the way. Instead she rolls onto her back, a show of submission to an alpha.

Wolf goes so far as to press his teeth against her throat gently, demonstrating his ability to kill her in the most literal sense possible, before he relents, holding that position for a moment to ensure she's submitted. Finally, still unhappy but at least mollified, he backs off, keeping a close eye on her.

Obsidian looked between the two of them. "...what the actual hell?!" There were...a LOT of ways that could have gone, almost none of which ended well, and that's just....Not to mention that the spell seemed to ONLY work on Lance, which might make things tough. It's a good thing he didn't plan on keeping him asleep the entire time, or this might be even worse.

As the wolf releases her Julie rolls upright again, resuming her neutral stance from before.

Wolf growls a little, warning her off, as he pushes between Obsidian and Julie, protectively.
