"I didn't feel like confirming any on what she said about us, outside of Echo. I can hardly blame her for that." Morden shook his head at the question. "She seems rather hard to forget, and I'm quite sure we've only met now...though something about her feels familiar, I wonder if she simply reminds me of someone else. I am definitely unsure of her affection, as I would be hard pressed to forget someone I was THAT familiar with."

Siegfried purses his lips. "Forgive me. I am, perhaps, being overly... " he gestures, helplessly.

[CalamityJade]

"No, she is indeed strange and the only reason to trust her now is that she may, indeed, want something from us. Her attention towards myself doesn't help matters." He moved up next to Siegfried. "But you should not worry about where my attention in that sort of thing would lay. I was much more worried about hurting your feelings than hers."

Siegfried blushes faintly. "Truly, there's no need to worry about my feelings. I am used to... disappointment."

[CalamityJade]

"Just because you are used to rejection does not mean you should give up on acceptance." He gave a bit of a smile. "In fact, I believe this would be a perfect time to show you that." Morden removed his glasses, putting them on a small dresser before turning his full attention to Siegfried. "Now then, Why would you think that your feelings would mean less than my own. I'm neither your employer, nor someone of great importance so how is it that you think that?"

Siegfried pauses, considering the situation mentally for a few long moments.

"...huh. I can find no reason, and yet.... I am certain that I value your feelings more than my own."

That gets a smile from Morden. "So, you would put my feelings above your own. That is a rather...charming notion." He offered his hand to Siegfried. "One that should not go unappreciated."

Siegfried takes Morden's hand, blushing faintly.

"Please understand: I have lived my life in the shadow of my half-brother, and I do not see this situation changing in the future. In some respect, I will always be second."

Morden pulls the one hand while the other arm goes around Siegfried's waist. "That does not mean you cannot be put before other, or that you are undeserving of it. Case in point, it was not for safety that I came on this trip. There are precautions I could have taken and I have doubts that Lance is as dangerous as he believes himself to be. Not harmless, but not without restraint."

Now that he's closer, a very faint edge of something on Morden's eyes could be seen. Interesting that he appears to wear glasses AND contacts. "I wanted to spend the time getting to know you...and having such a nice setting for it was too much of an opportunity to pass up, you see."

Siegfried rests his head on Morden's shoulder, smiling despite himself. "You don't mind?"

"Do you mind the affections of a overly-curious accountant? I am not exactly the most exciting choice."

[yamikuronue]

"You're obviously more than that. You're someone who my father trusted, which automatically means you can't be that bad." He smiles.

[CalamityJade]

"No, but it doesn't make me the most interesting...and I have a habit of being too internal as I try to puzzle out things. I can also be a tad bit unattentive. Not on purpose, of course."

[yamikuronue]

"Internal's no problem -- I could always read your mind," he jokes. "As for inattentive -- I've never had anyone be attentive. Not sure if I'd like it."

[CalamityJade]

"Well, then the only stumbling point is that I do pretty myself up a little. Nothing too extensive, but I've learned that it makes people much more comfortable. There is a good chance you'll have to see that." Morden leans his head a little bit against Siegfried's, his skin feeling fairly warm.
