"He's..." Lance struggles to put together what he's trying to say.

Impulsive, prone to lashing out at people?" O gave a sigh. "You had an idea of how he had to be and since it meant you tried to fight and kill him, that's all you ever saw."

A child. Lance rests his head on his paws, instinct telling him to stay low while Alpha's looking. Could he have misinterpreted Wolf all this time? Re-contextualizing their previous fight as a temper tantrum -- yes, he could picture Wolf stamping his feet and holding his breath until his face turns blue, desperate to win at any cost.

Obsidian gave a long sigh. "...Doesn't mean that he doesn't have to learn better, tho." Internally, he was glad for a couple of reasons. One, Wolf seemed to take some sort of value of strength and wouldn't be able to ignore that Lance WAS in control right now. Second, Lance actually seemed himself...well as much of himself as he was these days.

Lance snorts. "He's impossible."

That got a bit of a chuckle. "Funny you say that." No one was impossible...at least not in his experience. Besides, he took pause to remember that his brother had said the same thing about Lance. "besides, it's not like he's always going to be like that."

"How can you be so sure?" demands Lance, with a bit of a whine.

"Because you weren't either."

Lance's aggressive tension fades as his shoulders slump a bit. "No, I ruined everything."

"How do you figure?" Obsidian crossed his arms and waited for Lance to answer. He always felt that Lance would be able to solve a lot of his problems, and tried constantly to make the kid do just that...well, he did before all this happened, It always worked better when Lance came to a decision rather than being told to do something.

Lance gives Obsidian a dry look.

"Shit may have gone badly, but you aren't the only one responsible." Obsidian shook his head. "So no, I'm not blaming you for something like that, especially since I know they wouldn't eitther."

Lance sighs, closing his eyes again. "If I hadn't been so stupid and arrogant... if I'd just listened when you said the woods were dangerous..."
