"You wouldn't have killed anyone. You'd have known what was happening and figured it out."

"Like hell. The only reason I would have been any better is because I've heard of werewolves. Not knowing anything about it, I'd have been in the same boat." Granted, he might be worse by comparison, but that's not something he couldn't prove. "Shit might have even went worse, if you can imagine it."

"How could it possibly have gone worse?"

"You wouldn't have been the only one to lose a family." That WAS a point. For the most part, even after everything happened, he hadn't gone far from home.

Lance grows quiet, eyes closed, imagining how much worse it could have been. "....I suppose you're right." he says, finally. "But I doubt you'd have done that. Once away from the house, my wolf tends to head for the forest, away from people."

"Well, he doesn't much like people, but considering how I was when I was younger, it probably would have been worse." O shrugged. "But that's then and this is now. This is the hand you got dealt, so now we just have to play it out...also glad to know I didn't permanently knock you out. Magic can be a bit annoying when two different kinds meet."

Lance's eyes pop open as he remembers the sleeping spell. "That was a fucking terrible idea," he says, starting to get to his feet... and stumbling slightly as he tries to work out what's wrong with his body. His instincts have led him to stand on four legs rather than two, but his brain hasn't quite caught up to why that is.

"Not my best by a long shot." HE sighed. "Though it did help confirm a couple of things I could only guess at, so not a total wash."

Lance ignores his uncle, lifting one paw, then the other, squinting a bit as he cranes his head to see what he's doing. Finally, he looks up at O, scandalized.

"...The hell am I a dog?"

O raised an eyebrow. "Wait...you've been talking all this time and you just NOW noticed?" Maybe Lance HADN'T changed as much as he thought. Still concentrating on the wrong things. "Just because you're in charge doesn't mean you changed back."

"I've never been awake while shifted before," he snaps, angrily. "How do I change back?"

Bitch speaks up from behind Obsidian.

"Think two legs. remember hands, want it, then become two legs. Don't like. four legs better."

"I was about to say 'I don't know' but that's about as good a guess as I could make. Might as well give it a go."

Lance closes his eyes again, trying to focus on his body, remember what it felt like to have thumbs. After a few moments, his body seems to wrench a bit, and then almost melt into his human form -- naked, on hands and knees on the floor, but human. He's clean-shaven, his hair long and draping around his head as he pants.
