"maybe make that a condition of you winning then." San suggests, reaching for the deck of cards to start shuffling. "So, are we gonna play by the Marquis of Fantailler rules, or make up our own?"

"Alright, I'll play if I get autonomy." Caelwyn looks at Horvar, grinning like she's already gotten away with something. If she could get some free reign, she could do something, pull something off and prove that she's useful as more than a shelf ornament.

Horvar cracked a smile. "Buy the lady a cupie doll, she got it in one." Of course, he wasn't planning to just lose the game to see what she'd do. "I will, of course, deal if you wish."

Caelwyn gives him a flat look. "A what?"

San sighs, shaking her head. "A children's toy. Pay no attention to it." then turning to Horvar "Declare the terms of engagement and deal. We shall see who the lady favours today."

"Well, as we are gambling, a game designed for that would be best...that is, if our Lady would be alright with that?" Horvar was fairly independent, but he wouldn't make a move of only minor consequence if it would annoy Pandora.

Pandora pays her lieutenant little heed. So energetic, her disciples were! So quick to action, like a minnow in a pond, darting to and fro, accomplishing little, drawing the attention of the sharks. Sharks didn't bother with all that thrashing about; they went where they pleased, in their own time.

She raises a hand, making a small, permissive gesture. Let the minnows have their game.

Horvar lets himself smirk a little as he got the cards. "Then we'll be doing a couple of hands with poker. Each time betting some time. At the end of it, you either get to time on your own, or time you HAVE to spend with some of the group here."

San nods, an amicable arrangement. "Deal then, and let game begin."

"Deal." Caelwyn sits back down, interlacing her fingers and stretching out her arms to crack her knuckles.

Horvar turned to Shinigami. "And are you in? Might as well add a little bit of a game to this, don't you think?"

Shinigami rolls her eyes. "Why? It's not as though you can keep up with me in the first place. I'd stand to gain nothing."

"Then what wager would you make?" San asks "Even for these sorts of stakes the game's not worth it with only two opponents."

"Hey, no reason for the cold shoulder. We're all here for the same thing. This just makes it a bit more interesting." Horvar gave a fairly nice smile...at least if you could keep from being reminded of a shark. "You might even find a way to keep me from getting things done juuust before ya."
