Go Down

yamikuronue

Caelwyn sticks out her tongue at Shinigami when she thinks the elder vampire is not looking. She is wrong. But Shinigami keeps that to herself.

accalia

San rolls her eyes and starts dealing the cards for a hand of 5 card draw.

"Fine then, we'll figure out what Shinigami's wager is when, if, the need arises."

CalamityJade

"And you'll go overboard and leave a bunch of bodies. I'm fairly sure we can do this with a little bit of flair." Horvar gave a bit of a grin. "Besides, if I completely stayed out of your way, how would you ever take advantage of a situation." He takes his cards. "You have eternity, so you should spend it well."

yamikuronue

Shinigami rolls her eyes. "Only you would be so soft as to value the lives of mortals as though they were something meant to last."

accalia

"Life is precious, as we who lack that quality must surely know." San snaps, tossing a few tokens onto the table to cover her initial bet. She may have snapped, but her tone is more annoyance than anything.... seems she just wants the game to be played before the chatter continues further.

She always was  a spoilsport like that...

yamikuronue

"It is abundant. It cannot therefore be precious, as it is in no short supply."

CalamityJade

"I'm just saying that having little of something means you do a lot for more of it. Same goes for life." Horvar pitched his chips in. "And no reason to get angry. Nothing but a bit of cards and a bit of time, is all." Besides, mortals men and women had a LOT to offer if they wanted what they could be selling. Obviously you wouldn't turn anyone, but he had to start somewhere, hence him starting with. Caelwyn. If she panned out, then he'd have a base to build off of.

His cards were alright, but he wasn't about to let a good, distracting conversation go. "Besides, I don't think either of us are regretting being here, even as much as Shini likes to complain about the company.

As the train hurtles into the night, we find our attention drawn to its destination: a stately three-story manor. The walls are freshly painted a pleasing sort of beige, and while the roof was no longer new it was still sturdy and solid. The gardens were blooming now, the fountains cleaned and running; this afternoon, in fact, there was a temporary pavilion erected in the larger open area in the center of the landscaped gardens, housing an ice sculpture of a wolf howling at the sky.

Speaking of wolves, a pair of them raced through the forests, trying to make their way back to the pavilion before the party ended -- a deadline they, unaware, had missed an hour prior. Wolf and his violet-furred companion glory in the speed even as Lance inwardly curses his lack of attention to the time; he hadn't meant to be gone that long, he'd miss the toast...

Lance skids to a stop, his companion vanishing into thin air, at the sight of the nearly empty pavilion. Crap. Siegfried was going to be furious. He didn't want to attend social gatherings at the best of times, but his half-brother's engagement party was something he really had no excuse to miss.

yamikuronue

OOC: Since there's some confusion, I said "nearly empty" so that ya'll can plop down characters in there to talk to Lance

CalamityJade

Obsidian had, interestingly enough, decided to stick out the party. Not that he'd been asked to look for anyone in particular or that he was even worried. Just that...well, he didn't have much to do right now. Being unable to leave the state (Part of his parol) and having somewhat...specific skills meant he spent a lot of time doing odd jobs or helping with construction. Both things he could do with some amount of discression. Of course, SOME would say he always did that to get out of babysitting, but that was bullcrap. He was currently enjoying a glass of some sort of alcohol and relaxing in one of the chairs.

yamikuronue

Wolf darts toward his Alpha, hitting the concrete the instant he sets paw within ten feet of him, rolling onto his back without any complaint or sign of petulence, his tail plastered to his belly. He wriggles for a moment before Lance wrests control back, remaining in the supplicant position but remembering to use words:

~Crap, I'm sorry. Is he mad?~

The wolf is healthier now, his coat a glossy auburn. He's a large beast, almost three feet tall, with large yellow-white teeth capable of ripping a rabbit to shreds in minutes. Nevertheless, Wolf still tends to be playful and puppy-like much of the time, with only the occasional tantrum revealing his adolescence.

CalamityJade

O still had to chuckle at that. He was used to the sudden shows of submission, more so when Lance thought he'd done something wrong. Wolf was...easy enough to handle, knowing he wanted basic survival things as well as keeping their 'territory' safe.

"Depends on what you mean by mad. He's been doing the 'host' thing, but he's got that...kinda sharp tone. Ya know, the one he used to use when you made things difficult? He's at least THAT much mad." Which was probably pretty pissed. What he HADN'T mentioned was that Morden had to excuse himself at some point to calm down. Seemed that he might be getting mad for Siegfried's sake on that one.

yamikuronue

Wolf whines softly, wriggling a bit more. Lance forces them to their feet, though Wolf's ears remain back and his tail tucked under his belly in a silent apology.

~Damn. I really did mean to be back in time. I've been so restless lately, I thought I'd work that out before the party and um... we got distracted.~

CalamityJade

"Small distraction, or large one?" Not that he thought anything too dangerous would be out int the woods. Anything Lance couldn't handle on his own would have been making noise for a while, or would have been much more attracted to the party than Lance. He reached down to put his palm between Lance's ears as something of a sign that he was appeased enough. Still didn't think he should be in charge of anything, but he also wasn't one for orders. As long as it didn't get in the way of things, he was willing to play the part.

yamikuronue

~Small. Wolf doesn't do time well.~ Lance's tone was a bit rueful; he still had trouble with the urge to surrender to Wolf entirely in this form, forgetting about his own goals in the meantime. Wolf, still stronger than he ought to be, panted happily, bumping his head against Obsidian's hand playfully.
