Just a Little Change... [Finished]

"Didn't eat the paper, did i?" Julie asks as she slowly sits at the table, referring to a couple of times where Bitch took over while Julie herself was still asleep and shredded the morning paper before anyone in the house had a chance to read it.

[yamikuronue]

"No, and I thank you for that." He smiles, cracking eggs into a bowl so he can whisk them with some milk, salt, and pepper. He throws in some dried herbs from the garden; Bitch won't care, but Julie might appreciate the extra effort.

[accalia]

"Good." Julie says taking a long sip of coffee. "Was worried about that. Wanted to check the obits."

Siegfried slides the eggs into the pan, putting the bowl in the sink. He then goes back to his mixing bowl, taking some of the foamy mixture from the crock and putting it into the bowl. He adds a cup of flour to the crock, capping it them returning it to the windowsill; he then adds several cups to the mixing bowl, along with salt and some oil. He stirs this mass, putting a cloth over top and placing that in the sunspot from the windowsill before checking on the eggs again.

Morden found that time to actually come back into the kitchen. "She seems....fine." There was a slight bit of annoyance to his voice as he came back in. "Siegfried? What exactly are you doing?"

"Making Julie some breakfast," he replies simply. "Do you need more coffee?"

[CalamityJade]

"Alright, and what about the rest?" Morden frowned. "I don't see why you won't even ASK for help. I'm sure I can manage making bread if you're going to insist on doing this." He moved to see if he could give Siegfried a hand.

[yamikuronue]

Siegfried places a hand on Morden's arm. "It is my job to serve. I would prefer you relax, enjoy yourself."

[accalia]

"Is good to serve" Julie agrees "Don't neglect self to do so. Family is strength. Family shares burdens."

Short of words as usual for this early in the day, but Julie makes up for in directness. The coffee seems to have helped too.

"I realize that it is your job. I ALSO realize that this is your home and that you deserve to spend some time not running yourself into the ground."

[yamikuronue]

"My home?" He repeats, softly. He then shakes his head.

"I'm already behind. I need to weed the garden today."

[accalia]

Julie blushes at that comment..... that's never good.

"Uhh..... which garden do you need to weed?"

Yeah, that's not a good tone either..... here's hoping Siegfried doesn't look outside right now.

"The kitchen garden, the herbs." He speaks slowly, sounding tired.

[accalia]

The blush on Julie's face deepens.... she remembers part of last night.... and the mud that was on her paws after....

"I think.... I think weeding will not be a concern.... Also i probably owe you several more plants...."

Siegfried takes a deep breath, then lets it out slowly.

"Then, I have to take a trip into town. And it's wash-day for the linens, and we're almost out of formula, and the Young Master's drain clogged."
